The Role
The primary purpose of this role is to underwrite a sustainable portfolio of business in accordance with the Allianz Underwriting Framework, Allianz Standards for Underwriting (ASU) and delegated authority levels.
Please note, the location for the role is flexible however QLD is preferred.
Main Responsibilities
Provide quotations and secure more complex New Business, Renewals and provide technical support, coaching and leadership to the region underwriters and the broader Commercial Division team. Manage workflows for Complex Accounts, such as New Business, Renewals and Policy Maintenance, to ensure delivery of quality service standards. Identify profitable new business opportunities and maximise conversion/strike rate of desired business. Maximise retention of preferred accounts and review renewal and new business and plan negotiations with Distribution and other Underwriting staff. Conduct ongoing market intelligence gathering through liaison with Brokers and Reinsurers, reviewing data and assessing risk.
About you
Extensive experience in an operational, commercial underwriting role in a complex, matrixed general insurance organisation. Adept at proactively building and maintaining professional relationships and networks to enhance industry positioning, exchange knowledge and elicit beneficial outcomes. Ability to plan and prioritise effectively, organise tasks and manage competing resources and demands. Demonstrates enthusiasm and ability to optimise business value to customers by delivering high quality services and positive customer experiences to sustain and enhance the customer base. Comprehensive understanding of relevant regulatory and/or legislative compliance requirements that impact the organisation.
