The Boeing Global Services (BGS) Commercial Modifications Engineering team is seeking Senior Multi-Skilled Project Engineers (Level 4) to lead Integrated Product Teams in in Long Beach, California.

We are looking for experienced, engaged and motivated engineers to join a team of highly skilled Project Engineers supporting multiple product lines: Connectivity, Avionics and Airframe, Performance & Systems (AP&S), working on complex work statements in coordination with Engineering, Program Management, and other key supporting organizations.

Position Responsibilities:

Performs as Project Engineer directing and integrating multiple internal functional engineering disciplines & external suppliers in the execution of Connectivity, Avionics, and AP&S modification projectsSupports project proposal activities by reviewing Statement of Work, assessing potential impact to certification, configuration control, and defines the overall effort required to complete the projectDevelops integrated project plans and project schedules in conjunction with Program Management to execute on customer commitmentsUnderstands and manages system requirements, qualification efforts, and certification effortsPlans, identifies, and coordinates resources required over the life of the project or programApplies systems engineering principles in the execution of projectsIdentifies technical risk, issues, and opportunities; manages risk mitigation, issue resolution, and opportunity capture in all stages of the projectFacilitates Technical Design Reviews (TDRs) to resolve technical issuesPartners closely with technical Subject Matter Experts to resolve technical issuesEffectively navigates complex certification efforts, working with FAA and EASA appointed personnelResponds to changes to SOW, assesses the impact and negotiates proposed changes to determine modifications to the deliverables, resources, costs and schedulesIdentifies and reports project technical performance metrics; responds to trends to maximize timely and quality engineering performanceCompares actual results to baseline plan to assess project performance, efficiencies, productivity and lessons learnedIdentifies and leads improvement initiatives to improve quality and reduce project flowWorks with customers and management to obtain approvalWorks under minimal direction.Some domestic and/or international travel will be required

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science5+ years’ experience in leading teams or projects5+ years’ experience supporting cross functional teams3+ years’ experience in Aircraft Connectivity, Avionics, or AP&S domainsExperience with schedule and risk management

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

5+ years' experience as a Technical Lead or Senior Technical Lead on Aerospace Design VehiclesExperience working with SuppliersExperience with 14 CFR Part 25 RegulationsManufacturing experience on Aerospace Design VehiclesPrevious experience working in the aircraft modification environmentExperience with Boeing Global Services ProgramsKnowledge of Boeing design, release, and certification proceduresExperience providing briefings to senior and/ or executive level managementExperience with Lean/Six Sigma

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary Pay Range: $122,400- $165,600
