Responsible for maintaining networks and systems that keep our organization running, including firewalls and security components, and managing network updates/changes/site start ups and shut downs. They work fluidly across the major infrastructure elements of networking, security, storage, virtualization, and servers to deliver new availability, capacity, services, and safeguards. They have deep technological expertise with a wide range of computer systems, hardware, networking, communications, servers, storage, telephony and software is essential so provide the top tier support and expertise that helps drive our organization forward. The salary range for this position is $119,000-$148,000 annually. Key Responsibilities: * Installs, administers, supports, and maintains network hardware, peripherals, software, operating systems, patches, etc. * Monitor performance on both the LAN and WAN as well as the installation, operations, upgrade, performance, and monitoring of the network and application servers. Use and improve network management tools that provide monitoring and management of all network infrastructure to maximize performance * Troubleshoots and solves the most complex network connectivity problems, including monitoring the network and servers for problems, diagnosing problems, and taking the appropriate corrective measures to ensure an expedient resolution. * Identifies ongoing preventive maintenance for the network and infrastructure, performs and/or confirms other team member performance of preventive maintenance tasks * Ensures network security by ensuring proper user accessibility, and being able to reasonably guard against the most complex threats to security that will face the network. * Receives and responds to incoming calls, e-mails, or texts regarding network operations and/or problems; provides highest level tier support for help desk tickets and projects. * Supports design and implementation of disaster recovery and hardware, software, processes, information protection and file integrity. * Develops and implements strategies to use Cloud Services to enhance the agility, capacity and resiliency of the IT infrastructure. * Maintains, prepares, and upholds processes for reporting, statistically monitoring, and logging network performance, including identifying and resolving the most complex performance issues that may face the servers and network. Assists in planning for the future strategy of networks and servers, and provides budgetary information as needed. * Conducts research on various networks and products of networking in support of its development and procurement efforts. * Evaluates and recommends network and server hardware and software for purchase. * Develops and maintains installation, operational, and configuration procedures. * Contributes to, and maintains Infrastructure Team and System standards. * Performs Project Manager responsibilities as needed for Infrastructure projects. * Mentors other Infrastructure staff as needed. * Develops, implements and maintains policies, procedures and associated training plans for network resource administration and appropriate use * Oversees asset management activities related to the entire life cycle of networking equipment and telecommunications services * Engages in the oversight of third party networking and telecommunications service providers and develop purchase recommendations for equipment * Collaborates with the Cybersecurity, Business Solutions and IT Infrastructure teams to oversee the network vulnerability management program and risk mitigation activities (segmentation, updates, security monitoring, intrusion detection and prevention, etc) * Proactively identifies, communicates, and mitigates risks associated with ongoing operations and new/planned maintenance activities. * Supports IT audits (SOC2, PCI, HIPPA, etc) and ensure all controls are followed as per implementation. * Attends work as scheduled and/or required, including nights, weekends, and on-call for after-hours emergencies. * Performs other duties as assigned. Education, Licensing, and Certifications: * Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in IT * Continuous ongoing education and training in the IT field focused on networking, infrastructure and telecom systems Experience: * 15+ years of experience in top tier support/maintenance providing network administrative services – including hands-on experience with the most complex and difficult network issues; demonstrated ability to solve the most complex networking systems issues independently * Business focus and experience from a similar role in a multi-site and multi-national company * Extensive experience managing core IT network and telecommunications systems Skills and Knowledge Required: * Proven hands-on administration expertise with CISCO and Fortinet networking and firewall systems, LAN and WAN technologies (BGP, EIGRP, 802.11 Wireless standards, SSL and IPsec VPN, MPLS, SD-WAN), data center operations * Proven hands-on SAN administration experience (i.e. Pure Storage, Dell/EMC, Hitachi, etc.) with multi-tiered storage and fiber channel configuration administration; similar experience with backup and recovery technologies and tools for SAN and storage systems * Working knowledge of cloud technologies and services (AWS, Microsoft Office 365, Azure) * Working knowledge of cybersecurity, IT operations and compliance frameworks like: NIST, PCI, HIPAA, SOC II Skills and Knowledge Preferred: * CISCO and/or Fortinet certifications * Cloud certifications (AWS, Microsoft Office 365, Azure) * Project/service management training or certification Pre-Employment Requirements: * Drug testing and background check * Testing related to job requirements Office Location and Travel: * Office Location – Transdev Corporate Office in Lombard, IL (Chicago Western Suburbs) * Hybrid Office Schedule – currently offering hybrid office schedule 3 days office, 2 days remote contingent as business and meeting schedules allow * Occasional Travel to company and client locations required outside of immediate office area (as a percent): up to 10% Physical Requirements: * Ability to carry, unbox, configure and install networking equipment in racks/cabinets * Ability to install and connect network wiring, patch panel cables, power supplies, and other equipment for racked and desktop IT equipment. * Ability to use a ladder and remove/install wireless access points * Ability to lift, push, pull and/or carry objects which weigh as much as 25 or more pounds on an occasional basis.
