Your role and responsibilitiesIn this role, you will have the opportunity to own software solution architecture across multiple architecture categories and ensure its alignment with enterprise and data architecture standards. Each day, you will be responsible for the design and build, integrity, and quality of an Information Systems (IS) solution and associated IS services delivered to business. You will also showcase your expertise by consulting, advising, and supporting on the installation of new IS solutions/services, or changing existing IS solutions/services.The work model for the role is Hybrid in Memphis, TN.You will be mainly accountable for:• Design, configure, and implement network solutions based on business requirements using Cisco Viptela, AWS networking, DNA Center, ThousandEyes, routing, and switching technologies.• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and translate network requirements into scalable and efficient network designs.• Build, configure, and troubleshoot network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and other network appliances.• Conduct network capacity planning, performance monitoring, and optimization to ensure high availability and optimal network performance.• Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewall configurations, access controls, and intrusion detection systems.• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior network engineers and support teams.• Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate network infrastructure with other systems and technologies.• Conduct network audits and vulnerability assessments to identify potential risks and recommend appropriate remediation strategies.• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and emerging technologies in networking and security.
Qualifications for the roleBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent work experience will be considered. Extensive experience as a Network Engineer, with a focus on designing, implementing, and managing complex network infrastructure. Strong proficiency in Cisco Viptela, AWS networking, DNA Center, ThousandEyes, routing, and switching technologies. In-depth knowledge of network protocols, such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs, VPNs, and QoS. Experience with network design and architecture, including high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery planning. Solid understanding of network security principles and best practices. Familiarity with Infoblox or other IP address management (IPAM) solutions. Professional certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent will be highly beneficial. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet project deadlines. Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
