Senior Network Operations Engineer

As a Senior Network Operations Engineer, you will provide expert-level support for the operational sustainment, troubleshooting, and optimization of the network infrastructure across the enterprise. This role ensures continuous network availability, performance, and compliance in support of mission-critical operations, modernization efforts, and digital transformation objectives. The Senior Network Operations Engineer leads operational support for routing, switching, firewall, and wireless systems while coordinating incident response, preventative maintenance, and performance management. Working alongside cybersecurity, help desk, and engineering teams, the Senior Network Operations Engineer plays a key role in sustaining connectivity aligned with mission requirements. Position will be located at Buckley SFB. This position is contingent upon successful contract award to V2X. #clearance Responsibilities Major Job Activities: Multi-disciplined network engineer with experience maintaining and fixing legacy wired solutions in response to network faults, errors, incidents, and problems. Provides touch labor for all network devices. Oversee monitoring of network assets per SLAs. Supervises break / fix and maintenance activities. Ensures the maintenance of multiple network enclaves, consisting primarily of Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls with support for other vendor products. Has a fundamental understanding of network engineering concepts and adapts to emerging technologies as they are introduced to the environment. Extensive experience and technical knowledge of both Enterprise and Data Center networks in addition to network security technologies. Experienced working with DMVPN technologies, EIGRP, BGP, and emerging data center architectures in addition to experience with network automation technologies. Troubleshoots complex problems to closure. Hands-on technical position that provides technical expertise and leadership for enterprise network infrastructure at Network Operations Center. Performs site surveys, configuration and engineering, installation planning, and documentation services for the customer as they relate to all network services. Analyzes network protocols, routing standards and procedures, traffic patterns, and data flow. Communicates clearly and succinctly, both written and orally, and presents products and ideas in a business-like manner. Material & Equipment Directly Used: Proficient with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio). Working Environment: Office environment with potential to support austere locations. Physical Activities: Must be able to lift / carry 50 lbs. Qualifications Education / Certifications: Technical BA / BS Degree; Or High School Diploma or Associate Degree. IAT III baseline certification (CASP CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH). CCNP or CCDP or equivalent. (Preferred) ITIL v3; CCNA; Juniper. Experience / Skills: 7 years with BA / BS Degree; Or Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Network Operations Support Engineer for large, complex programs / systems in a Network Operations Center environment with a High School or Associate Degree. Experience with DoD IT security requirements. Experience in utilizing ITSM frameworks. Experience supporting Department of Air Force (DAF) and local base environments. Clearance Requirement: This position requires an active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret (Tier 3) level clearance. Skills & Technology Used: Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with their team and customers.
