Design, implement, maintain, and support the F5 environment at multiple data centers. Broad knowledge of F5 offerings required with explicit knowledge/experience around BIG IP load balancing and XCS distributed cloud services. This position routinely requires interaction with multiple end users and teams in order to understand and fulfill IT project requirements. Position requires exceptional cooperation with an F5 focused counterpart on the security side. It also requires independent accountability for maintaining systems to current versions along with resource monitoring and future planning. Tasks may include involvement in the consultation/implementation of new solutions; creation of vips, monitors, health checks, irules, policies, standards, baselines, guidelines, and procedures. OVERVIEW The Senior Network Operations Technologist provides advanced level LAN, WAN, Wireless, and Voice design, administration, change planning, integration, and troubleshooting capabilities. The Senior Network Operations Technologist takes ideas from planning, through design, development, integration, and deployment. RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned) 1. Escalation resource for issues / situations within the Network Operations team. 2. Perform advanced level operational, troubleshooting, and administrative duties for a diverse portfolio of network and communication technologies. These duties include device configuration, monitoring, and maintenance. 3. Provide technical advice and counsel to management and to less experienced IT personnel. 4. Facilitate teams that may include peer-level professionals, specialized technicians, managers, contractors, consultants and/or customers 5. Provide mentoring / coaching / technical advice to Network Operations personnel. 6. Administer advanced level phone system and video conference system configurations and functions. 7. Provision advanced level telecommunication circuits through vendor interaction and device communication. 8. Design and integrate advanced level architectures for multiple major information communication technology systems, while addressing resource capacity issues and providing leadership to these efforts. 9. Contribute to and coordinate development of Standard Operating Procedure documentation for the Network Operations team. 10. Provide evening and weekend system support as needed. QUALIFICATIONS (Equivalent combinations of education, licenses, certifications and/or experience may be considered) Education • Bachelor’s degree in another field of study which includes courses in computer programming, systems analysis, system development, or systems engineering is required. • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Computer Engineering is preferred. Experience • 7 years of applicable experience in a technology environment, to include: • 3 years of experience in a Network Operations role • Experience with Cisco or Checkpoint technology solutions is preferred. Licenses/Certifications • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certification is preferred. Tools & Equipment • General Office Equipment
