Position Summary
Conducts training through classroom instruction and laboratory activities via the systematic approach to training. Responsible for the analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of training programs in Chemistry and Radiological Protection (C&RP).
May be required to fill a rotation in the DCPP Emergency Response Organization (ERO) as necessary.
To obtain and maintain employment and unescorted access at DCPP, you must be able to pass a drug and alcohol screen, a security background check, psychological screen, computer-based training, and be subject to random drug and alcohol screening.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. We would not anticipate that the individual hired into this role would land at or near the top half of the range described below, but the decision will be dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
A reasonable salary range is:
California Minimum: $122,000
California Maximum: $207,000
Job Responsibilities
Solves moderate to complex problems and takes a new perspective on existing solutions. Works independently with limited guidance. Analyzes subject material for new and revised training. Uses the design process to determine performance training and evaluation guides (PTEG), establish training settings, sequence training objectives, and identify test items from the objectives. Develops classroom and laboratory setting lessons, PTEGs, and test questions. Implements developed training by being prepared to present the material and ensuring the instructional facilities and resources are adequate and ready to provide a quality learning experience. Evaluates training process by the collection of data, including test results, feedback, and the performance of post training evaluations. Models and reinforces management expectations and engaging students in classrooms and labs to improve the safety culture. Applies human performance tools and provide coaching to reinforce safety behaviors utilizing the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant (DCPP) Site Standards Handbook. Includes as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA) topics that cover minimizing exposure and contaminations in classroom and lab material and discussions. Encourages and facilitates employee involvement in the training process. Ensures classroom and laboratory housekeeping exemplifies management expectations. Models and reinforces management expectations for the use of human performance tools and techniques to include coaching and acknowledging students when appropriate. Performs management observations in training settings as well as in the plant. Presents information, using a variety of instructional techniques and formats such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos and lectures.
Qualifications
Minimum:
High School or GED-General Educational Development-GED Diploma 8 years of experience in the technical subject area of instruction and a fully qualified instructor at a Commercial or Military nuclear power plant for five years.
