The Senior Occupational Health Nurse will support International employees’ health and safety program through quality patient care, case management, and disease detection/prevention/treatment and health education.

Responsibilities Performs clinic functions within the RN scope of practiceOversees clinic operations – ensures adequate inventory levels of medicines, supplies and equipment are maintained, confirms standing orders for medications and immunizations are currentConducts office duties including appointment scheduling, phone/emailcommunications/support and clinic record keepingKnowledge of worker’s compensation and disability case managementProvide immediate care and assistance to employees reporting to medical foroccupational accidents/injuriesCommunicate accident/injury reports to Management, Safety, HR as soon as possibleWork with EHS to support risk reduction for employees experiencing potentially work related musculoskeletal symptoms.Supports the Medical Director as neededProvides initial assessment of employee injuries and ensures proper referrals are madeRefers employees with identifiable limitations and/or health risks to appropriate resourcesResponds to plant-wide emergencies and performs other first responder dutiesActivates 911 emergency protocols when neededConducts new hire drug (hair) testing, DOT pre-employment and random drug testingUnder MD direction, assists with travel consultations and administers immunizations for employees (traveling abroad and other)With company physician, conduct basic ergonomic assessments and providesresults/referrals to Safety Assist Safety in managing Respiratory/Hearing Conservation ProgramProvides appropriate health education and referrals to employees as neededDemonstrates awareness of adherence to legal requirements pertinent to employee health and safetyMaintains employee health records in accordance with HIPAA, OSHA and company protocols.Updates and ensures compliance with Springfield Medical Department policies and proceduresProvides case management and pertinent medical records in support to other regional sitesManage proper disposal of medical biohazard wasteSupports International DOT program - assists in the recovery of requested employee documentation per DOT requirements Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree in nursingAt least 2 years of nursing experienceMust have an active Registered Nurse licenseMust have a current American Heart Association Health Professional CPR card

Occupational Health Nurse Specialist (COHN) certificateAt least 4 years of nursing experienceMust have an active Registered Nurse licenseMust have a current American Heart Association Health Professional CPR card Additional Requirements Qualified candidates, excluding current International Motors employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.
