Senior Operations Manager, Marketplace Optimization

**About the Role**
Marketplace is the core of Uber operations. We understand that connecting people to places and opportunities has real-world consequences, and that’s a big responsibility. Our principled approach to marketplace design helps us live up to that responsibility. This role is to work at optimizing how the marketplace is configured and coordinate some of the satellites of its core.
**What you'll do:**
The Senior Operations Manager, Marketplace Optimization, will handle the entire marketplace optimization vertical, being responsible for a variety of intense and technical topics. Will handle:
1. Maps, and all related projects, to optimize, generate insights and monitor our maps performance, also delivering projects alongside Product and Engineering, to improve maps performance.
2. Fares, to handle different topics, such as fare fallbacks and related issues, working alongside the pricing team, into solving general problems in relation to how our fares are estimated and executed.
3. Cross-tool interaction, combining knowledge between the rider and driver pricing tooling, to understand their interactions and build a cohesive combined strategy.
4. Strategic Ownership: Help develop, lead, and implement a strategy to improve our reliability products portfolio.
5. Business Sense: Monitor, understand, and interpret key operational and financial metrics to help figure out strategy and action plans. Develop and apply an understanding of the levers that move our business.
6. Problem Solving: Identify the root cause of risks and opportunities, propose multiple, practical solutions, and weigh tradeoffs to recommend the best approach to bring efficiencies and growth to our product portfolio.
7. Process Optimization: Implement, optimize, and scale core analyses and processes across the country, regularly reviewing performance for all products.
8. Product Improvement: Proactively search for new features or improvements that could improve the experience and efficiency of our marketplace, measure their impact, and collaborate with Regional teams to implement launches in the region
9. Stakeholder Management: Maintain productive working relationships with immediate team and cross-functional partners across operations, marketing, customer support, product, policy, and legal to scope, test and implement initiatives.
**What you'll need:**
1. 5+ years of experience in Product, Product Operations, Consulting, Operations
2. SQL is required, Python or R are a nice plus.
3. Data-driven decision mentality through strong analytical thinking
4. Communication: Able to interpret and present data to various audiences in an engaging and comprehensive, yet concise manner
5. Teamwork: Demonstrate optimism, respect others, and work well in a team. Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and responsibilities. Maintains healthy working relationships, even in disagreements
6. Planning & Organization: Ability to create detailed project plans with project stages, milestones, basic interdependencies, and owners
7. English proficiency
