Minimum requirements for the role:
A BEng or a BTech (mechanical) or a related qualification is essential for the role. A diploma in project management and or a MBA will be advantageous. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, supply chain management, and lean principles is essential for the role. The successful candidate should have experience being appointed a 16.2 in terms of the (OHS Act). Must have strong technical experience in rotating equipment, with a preference for pumps is preferred. Previous experience working with ore processing plants and large Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) project houses is advantageous. Must have a proven track record in managing a multi-disciplinary manufacturing facility with multiple departments comprising of 100-200 employees. Ability to scale operations in a fast-growing business environment. Previous experience managing local and international suppliers, with a solid understanding of imports and exports. Previous experience in managing operations across multiple countries or regions, including understanding different regulatory environments and cultural nuances. Must be proficient in ERP Software such as Syspro and SAP as well as a good knowledge of the labour relations act. Excellent skills in Microsoft software suites, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Power Bi. Strategic planning skills, with the ability to set goals aligned with the company’s strategic objectives. Exceptional decision-making abilities, with the capacity to identify potential benefits or risks before taking action. Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team. Knowledge and experience in implementing continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen. Focus on maintaining strong relationships with customers and ensuring customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Overseeing the following departments: logistics and supply chain, procurement, warehousing and stockholding, quality control, health and safety and product assembly. Maintaining gross profit margins by ensuring effective procurement practices. Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, including maintenance, certification of assets, housekeeping, and overall facility maintenance. Upholding the highest standards of quality control, aiming for zero complaints/returns. Incoming products must pass qc to ensure outgoing products meet QA standards. Managing and overseeing the accurate stock control and warehouse housekeeping. Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Overseeing end-to-end manufacturing processes, ensuring timely production and delivery. Implementing lean manufacturing principles to optimize production efficiency. Coordinating with engineering teams to ensure product design aligns with manufacturability. Managing procurement, inventory, and supplier relationships for cost-effective operations. Developing logistics strategies to streamline the supply chain and ensure timely delivery. Working with suppliers and vendors to negotiate contracts and improve supply chain resilience. Overseeing operational budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and profitability. Conducting variance analysis, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
