Senior Operations Specialist

Role accountabilities:

The Senior Operation Specialist will work as an integral part of project teams during planning and design of plant expansions and upgrades to provide operations insight and team guidance. You will conduct commissioning and startup planning and develop and lead training of client O&M staff, in addition to developing O&M manuals; traditional and electronic.

Staffing: You will be expected to conduct staffing assessments and identify and recruit additional operations experts to help build an existing team of part-time O&M professionals. This team will support O&M assignments across the country. 

Leadership: In this role you will provide assist public utilities with facility and system compliance assessments, management training or oversight, strategy development, public relations and elected official communications. Part of this role will include working with the national asset management team to plan and deliver asset management solutions.

Client Responsibilities: You will work directly with clients to determine capital improvement needs by leveraging experience to provide real world practical knowledge of facility maintenance. In this role you will work with client development professionals, account leaders and technical staff to strategize and position for new work opportunities. 

Technical Skills: You will be expected to conduct as-need process/operations troubleshooting work, as well as field observations and conditions assessments. 

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications

Associates degree in engineering or related field.  Prior Public Utility leadership or management experience. 15+ years of municipal water and/or wastewater experience with water or wastewater operator certification. Asset management or RCM training and experience. Experience involving inspections, surveys or data collection for water, sewer or similar infrastructure.  Open to travel for client assignments as required. 

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced training including BA, BS or specialty training in related fields. Emergency response training or experience. Energy management training. Diversity training.
