Senior Operations Technician – QC Testing

Double Day Shift

We are recruiting for a Senior Operations Technician to join our QC Testing team on a permanent basis, based at our Pencoed, South Wales facility. This position will be working the Double Days shift (rotating between 1 week of mornings and 1 week of afternoons).

Your new role

As a Senior Operations Technician within our QC Testing team, you will carry out the routine manufacture and quality control of the range of immunodiagnostics products.


What you’ll be doing:

Ensure HSE requirements within their immediate work environment is adhered to.Carry out manufacturing operations in accordance with cGMP and GLP, identifying and recording anomalous observations.  Empowered to halt processes following anomalous observations.If assigned, act as first level supervision to operational team in ensuring adherence to plan.Prepare SOP’s and associated documents for existing procedures.Operate production equipment or carry out manual operations.Carry out routine quality control tests, interpret results and make recommendations for appropriate action.Maintain operational environments.Maintain control charts for trend analysis.Understand principles of SPC and the uses of such systems. Ensure maintenance of production equipment is carried out to agreed schedules.Supervise contract maintenance staff and sign off completed maintenance records.

What you’ll need to succeed:

5 x GCSE levels including Math’s and relevant science or relevant operational experience.Laboratory work experience desirable.Science background preferred.Production Line or Laboratory work desirable.Ability to communicate verbally with all members of the operational team.Ability to work as part of a team.Ability to perform basic problem solving and employing ethical thinking when making decisions.Ability to work a double day’s shift pattern.
