As QuidelOrtho continues to grow, we are seeking to appoint a Senior Operations Technician to join our Quality Compliance department in Pencoed on a permanent basis. This role will work a Double Days shift (1 week of Mornings & 1 week of afternoons).

QuidelOrtho has been manufacturing products in South Wales for over 40 years. Our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, based in Pencoed, employs over 600 people who are involved in the manufacture and supply of clinical laboratory and immunohematology products to sites across the globe.
Our Pencoed team manufacture a large menu of immunohematology products used in transfusion medicine; in addition to a large menu of immunoassay products encompassing a range of disease categories.

Your new role:
As part of the Quality Compliance team, the Senior Operations Technician is responsible for carrying out the testing and release of immunodiagnostic products manufactured at Pencoed, in accordance with documented controlled procedures.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Ensure HSE requirements within their immediate work environment are adhered to.Carry out manufacturing operations in accordance with cGMP and GLP, identifying and recording anomalous observations. Empowered to halt processes following anomalous observations.If assigned, act as first level supervision to operational team in ensuring adherence to plan.Prepare SOP’s and associated documents for existing procedures.Operate production equipment or carry out manual operations.Carry out routine quality control tests, interpret results and make recommendations for appropriate action.Maintain control charts for trend analysis. Understand principles of SPC and the uses of such systems. Ensure maintenance of production equipment is carried out to agreed schedules. Supervise contract maintenance staff and sign off completed maintenance records.Participate in quality improvement initiatives and in associated implementation teams.Participate in the set-up of new production procedures and areas.Participate in shopfloor work-flow planning, including weekly planning and interfacing between work groups.Perform other work-related duties as assigned.What You’ll Need to Succeed:
5 GCSEs including Maths, and relevant Science OR HTECRelevant operational experience.Science background preferredLaboratory work experience desirable.Ability to work as part of a team.What we offer:
