Senior Operations Technician
As QuidelOrtho continues to grow, we are seeking to appoint a Senior Operations Technician to join our Biovue QC department in Pencoed on a permanent basis. This role will work a 24/7 Shift Pattern, with 7 shifts across 14 days which include 12-hour days & nights.

QuidelOrtho has been manufacturing products in South Wales for over 40 years. Our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, based in Pencoed, employs over 600 people who are involved in the manufacture and supply of clinical laboratory and immunohematology products to sites across the globe.
Our Pencoed team manufacture a large menu of immunohematology products used in transfusion medicine; in addition to a large menu of immunoassay products encompassing a range of disease categories.

Your new role:
As part of the Biovue QC team, you will ensuring the quality of Biovue cassettes through routine testing, equipment maintenance, and thorough investigations of customer complaints. The Senior Operations Technician performs quality control tests on materials and products, manages testing equipment, conducts experiments, and writes detailed reports.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Complete routine quality control testing on raw materials, bulk solutions and finished product, in accordance with cGMP and GLP, to ensure the quality of Biovue cassettes manufactured at Pencoed.Operate, Calibrate and perform routine manual operations for testing instruments.Design of experiment and perform investigation work in response to customer complaints. Write and design reports for completed investigation work. Perform and report NEQAS testing.Raise and follow up on RRTs.Perform routine housekeeping tasks.Deputise for Principal Technician as required.Maintenance of personal and operational training plans, modules and frameworks in accordance with the training plan certification program.Perform other work -related duties as assigned.What You’ll Need to Succeed:
