What will you be doing?
This is a Sr. Engineering position, with a focus on Oracle Database administration, along with analytics and reporting platforms. An engineer for the Analytics and Data Management (ADM) team is expected to take on strategic initiatives and day-to-day support for all the infrastructure platforms we maintain to serve our customers.
This involves a range of technologies that all focus on managing, storing, transforming, and replicating data. We plan our work around business needs and ensure that our platforms are performant while maintaining proper support.
We are in an exciting time for the team. We are helping to support new AI (Artificial Intelligence) efforts within the organization and are also looking to transition some of our workloads to a new data center. It is worth reiterating that this position entails more than just Oracle DBA duties.
Responsibilities:
Oracle RAC 19C, 100TB+ Exadata Data Warehouse – Architecting solutions, administering and monitoring performance, backups, patching, upgrades, refreshes, data guard, etc. Work with our customers to adopt new database features. Oracle GoldenGate – upgrades, patching, lifecycle management, setting up new replication of tables from pluggable and non-pluggable databases for our users. Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation. Help plan, architect, implement, and support new technologies Design and develop automation to reduce support Be proactive and use metrics to gain insight into trends for the products we support Demonstrate analytical and long-term resolution-oriented problem-solving skills Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on issues Participate in maintenance windows and a 24/7 on-call rotation with the team Experience working and leading projects regarding upgrades and/or new architectural implementations Expected to learn other technologies outside of Oracle From a senior level, you will be expected to mentor other team members, from both a technical and professional aspect.Note: Candidates may be given a technical assessment as well
