Senior Organizational Change Manager - Hybrid
**Overview:** Develops and delivers organizational change management strategies and plans for high-priority, complex projects with significant change impacts. Directs or guides team members, change resources or external consultants who serve in change management roles. Focuses on the people side of change, including changes to processes, systems and technology, job roles and organization structures. Drives faster employee adoption and long-term change sustainability increasing benefit realization and ROI (Return on Investment). Leads change management by driving the advancement of change management methodologies, capabilities and skills. Advises on enterprise change management strategy. This role reports into Transformation Enablement, which is part of Strategy, Transformation and Innovation. **Primary Responsibilities:** + Apply structured change management approach and tools to develop change strategies and plans to support the adoption and value realization of large-scale, complex change initiatives. + Serve as primary liaison to the change sponsor, project manager, leadership, overall project team, and stakeholders. Provide leadership to enhance change effectiveness. + Oversee multiple change project schedules, associated budgets, and resources. Integrate change management activities and tasks into project plan. Analyze the volume of change across multiple projects. Recommend project sequencing to address change fatigue and saturation. + Build and maintain a variety of mutually beneficial stakeholder relationships that advance change management effectiveness and capability with a focus on senior and executive leadership levels as well as with strategic partners. + Conduct and analyze a variety of assessments including stakeholder assessment, change impact analyses, and change readiness. + Identify, analyze and develop tactics to mitigate change barriers and resistance and enable change readiness. + Engage, and coach senior leaders on effective change leadership. + Direct or complete the development, delivery and management of communications. Work with corporate and line of business communications teams as needed. + Provide input, document requirements and support the design and delivery of training programs or learning resources. Work with Learning & Development teams. May manage external training development and delivery resources. + Define and measure business readiness and success metrics and monitor change progress. Gather qualitative and quantitative data through survey development, focus groups, interviews, and other feedback mechanisms. + Develop and facilitate the implementation of change sustainability plans. + Adapt to new projects and stakeholders when the subject matter is unfamiliar. + Guide and advocate for the expansion, integration, and maintenance of organizational change management processes and competencies across the Bank. Remain current on change management industry best practices and apply to Bank processes as appropriate. + Serve as internal change management expert. Provide change leadership coaching as appropriate. Provide organizational change management coaching, mentoring and learning opportunities for change management practitioners as well as project and program managers. + Drive the maturity of change management across the enterprise + Manage other change management professionals who are not direct reports. Partner with other groups instrumental in leading change as well as preferred change management consulting vendors. + Ensure the execution of change management is in alignment to other disciplines integrated into the project such as agility, process improvement and customer centricity. + Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management. + Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand. + Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable. + Complete other related duties as assigned. **Education and Experience Required:** + Bachelors' degree, or equivalent work experience + Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a change management, learning and development, employee communications, or product or project management role **Education and Experience Preferred:** + Advanced experience applying change management principles, methodologies, and tools to deliver on projects' desired business outcomes + Evidence of leading large-scale high-impact change initiatives in large organizations + Proven strong verbal and written communication skills, particularly in negotiating, influencing, and gaining consensus + Experience clearly communicating complex concepts in a simple manner + History of effectively communicating verbally and in writing with senior management on status of initiatives + Excellent project management skills + Experience working in an agile environment + Strong familiarity with the complementary nature of change management to customer centricity + Experience using a change management platform (i.e. ChangePlan) + Demonstrated history of delivering quality on time for large-scale change projects + Extensive experience handling multiple tasks and projects + Extensive experience working under time constraints in support of various initiatives + Advanced experience with pertinent word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, project management, and email software + MBA (Master’s degree in Business Administration) or advanced degree in Organizational Development, Organizational Behavior, or Change Management + Change management certification (Prosci, CCMP) + PMP (Project Management Professional) certification + Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a dedicated change management role + Experienced in team collaboration and file-sharing applications + Excellent problem-solving skills + Excellent critical thinking skills + Proven ability to think strategically with the ability to identify connections between various parts and systems of an organization + Banking/financial industry experience + Strong business acumen + Strong understanding of organizational issues and challenges **Working Model/Location:** This is a hybrid position requiring two days per week in office. Eligible candidates must live within commuting distance to one of our four main M&T Bank offices located in: + Buffalo, NY + Bridgeport, CT + Baltimore, MD + Wilmington, DE **Anticipated Travel Requirements:** Employees in this position should be prepared to travel at least once per quarter (primarily to Buffalo, NY). M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $100,611.94 - $167,686.57 Annual (USD).
