Key responsibilities
• Develop and safeguard reputation and brand of Allianz Re with our clients as well as in the markets while building and maintaining sustainable relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
• Main entry point for clients concerning non-life treaty topics
• Manages and co-ordinates activities of AZ Re towards clients to ensure profitability, superior customer service and compliance with AZ Re strategy
• Acquisition and maintenance of treaty business within AZ Re governance framework
• Analysis and development of client reinsurance structure
• Build and foster relationships to clients and other stakeholders, e.g. brokers
• Development of sustainable reinsurance solutions for clients in changing environment (Solvency II, RI markets)
• Maintenance of acceptable level of AZ Re profitability also through the market cycle at arm’s length market conditions (especially during soft market conditions)
• Solution oriented and effective Resource Management of cross-functional Client team members.
• Communication and implementation of Group strategy and rules for reinsurance
• Support Group optimization through set-up of Financial Management contracts (only AZ Group internal business)
• Execute market & client and broker strategies
• Analyze client reinsurance business case in the dimension client view / AZ Re view / Group view as well as appropriateness for direct business development
• Assist in developing new business opportunities for assigned markets and clients, driving development of client solutions
• Manage the renewal process in a timely and efficient manner. Determine market pricing taking into account strategic drivers and market cycle. Co-ordinate all activities around non-life treaties incl. Special Acceptances, Claims, Run-off issues and potential Commutation according to Allianz treaty guidelines; Ensure contract certainty and alignment of reinsurance/insurance terms.
• Assist in acting as Consultant for client and negotiate implementation of reinsurance solutions to meet Group objectives; challenge proposed/existing RI structures in terms of effectiveness
• Coordinate all activities of AZ Re for clients and respective client team members (Actuarial, Nat Cat, Underwriting (treaty/fac), Accounting, Broker Management and Specialty Lines)
• Monitor business development based on clear metrics and assess performance in regular reviews
• Assist in producing annual plan and assess plausibility of quarterly results in co-ordination with UW/Acc/Claims. Comment on deviations and define adequate actions if required
• Coordinate Non-Life client action plans with Specialty lines of business
• Develop and maintain market and client knowledge
• Develop readiness to explain client as well as AZ Re / AZ Group performance/strategy to internal stakeholders
• Assist in executing Client management best practice/capabilities incl. strategic account planning
Qualifications
Required Education / Certifications
• Degree or relevant certifications
• Fluent in English mandatory (OE contract language helpful)
Required Experience
• Significant insurance and reinsurance experience (min 3 yrs)
• Experience in managing and developing customer and broker relationships
• Basic understanding around Client issues
• Basic understanding around Insurance market topics
