Responsibilities Position Summary The Senior Packaging Design Manager is a critical leader on the Pet Creative Studio team, serving as a brand architecture and design lead for Post’s Pet division. This individual collaborates with a team of specialists and outside agencies to lead work on Brand Identity, Brand Architecture, Naming, Photography, and Package Design. The Senior Packaging Design Manager facilitates the creation of strong design briefs, executes RFP’s in collaboration with Purchasing, and leads the design review process across designated Pet brands. This individual interacts frequently with Brand, Insights, and Innovation Directors and is responsible for establishing assignment clarity and ensuring design excellence from agencies and creative partners. Works closely with Packaging Production teams to ensure design intent is carried through to print. Strong leadership skills and the ability to influence others are crucial to driving decisions in meetings. Key Responsibilities Primary focus is on packaging design, brand architecture, and brand identity, but also has the experience to flow to other types of design projects like e-comm product content, social content, in-store materials, etc. Hands-on creative experience applying design skills and working with various tools/technologies to bring design concepts to life. Ensure design brief clarity and push internal and agency partners to deliver best-in-class work that achieves business objectives. Leverage leadership and communication skills to facilitate effective design reviews with Brand, Insights, and Innovation Leaders and drive feedback clarity and timely decisions. Oversee photoshoots and collaborate with agency partners from concept to completion to ensure the creative vision is brought to life. Partner with Insights on stim development, discussion guide, and deployment of packaging research. Manage the team, project, and financial resources for key design assignments. Ensure SOW, budget, and relevant talent/usage rights negotiations are accounted for. Execute and uphold holistic brand/design strategy. Enable best practices, problem-solving, and capture key learnings to drive continuous improvement. Provide oversight of packaging prepress, production, and printing. Qualifications Experience Required Minimum 10+ years CPG package design and creative project management Creative agency experience a plus Bachelor’s degree required Other Proven CPG experience driving creative solutions Experience leading multi-functional teams Agency management experience Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Outlook, Excel and PPT Has a good understanding of print processes (flexo, gravure and offset) Proven leadership skills and an ability to lead others without direct authority Self-starter with an ability to multi-task and prioritize, often under tight deadlines. People oriented with excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills Photoshoot management and talent rights experience Willingness to travel 15% Work Location Hybrid work schedule - in office (Lakeville, MN) 3 days #LI-hybrid
