Overview

LaSalle Investment Management is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Private Funds Paralegal to join our legal team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting LaSalle’s private fund formation activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirement and LaSalle’s policies and procedures, and assisting with various legal and compliance matters related to LaSalle’s operations.

Responsibilities     

Work with Global Funds Team, business teams, employee co-investment team, and outside counsel on fund offerings and closings

Draft and review various fund formation documents, including: resolutions, certificates, and other documents

Maintain accurate fund formation records utilizing Juniper Square platform and others

Respond to information requests related to fund closings, including KYC and AML

Draft transfer documents related to employee transfers of employee co-investment interests in sponsored funds

Assist in MFN process and side letter compliance

Support employee co-investment funds’ ongoing AML compliance by completing quarterly check-ins, and reviewing, amending and adopting policies

Assist in the maintenance of the legal department budget by reviewing and processing legal invoices, and liaise with vendors for efficient payment of invoices

Implementing new processes and creating operational efficiencies for transaction closings

Maintain and update Global Fund Team trackers and calendars

Assisting on other ad-hoc projects

Qualifications 

Bachelor's degree and paralegal certificate

4-6 years of private fund formation experience, preferably with real estate funds

Strong knowledge of corporate law, securities regulations, and governance best practices

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal research tools

Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

Experience with software tools for electronic onboarding of investors to private funds is a plus
