The Role
Veeva’s Legal Team is looking for an experienced Senior Employment Law Paralegal to join our highly motivated, tightly knit, and collaborative Legal team. You will provide support to the Global Labor & Employment practice group. You are a self-starter, have the ability to multi-task and prioritize work, and can work both independently and as a member of a team. You will assist in all aspects of the employment relationship and manage a portfolio of contentious matters. We are looking for a high performer who has exceptional communication skills and is adaptable, team-oriented, loves to learn, and operates with a high degree of integrity. This role can be located anywhere in the US, eastern and central time zones preferred, and will report to the Associate General Counsel - Global Employment Law.What You'll DoPerform detailed and comprehensive legal research in employment lawRespond to non-party subpoenas for documents and/or appearancesHandle case management from initial filing through trial and appealConduct legal research and witness interviewsPull, review, and analyze documents of importance to cases and investigationsCoordinate and manage Outside Counsel (OC) and Internal Counsel (IC) for the update of template letters, agreements, and standard documentsRegularly update internal knowledge pages, provide IC updates on relevant changes in law, case law, topics as provided by OCDevelop, coordinate, and facilitate training sessions from legal to clients/stakeholders and non-client facing IC’sProvide support with M&AImplement new processes, systems, and/or operations for a more efficient VeevaResponsibilities may change with time and expand based on abilities and interestsRequirementsBachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience7+ years as a paralegal with 3+ years of relevant labor and employment law experience at an in-house legal or compliance department; significant experience with litigationFamiliarity with litigation and various governmental agencies involved in L&E matters, e.g. EEOC, KCHR, NLRB, AAA, DOLStrong proficiency with Windows-based software, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel; able to pick up other applications and new tools quicklyStrong problem-solving and analytical ability.
