The Senior Payroll Business Analyst will also provide functional Workday Payroll and Time and Attendance support, analytical and process support, and ad-hoc internal payroll reports and play a key role in delivering and supporting Payroll initiatives across Payroll Shared Services. This position requires a personable individual who is highly focused on operational excellence and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
This hybrid role requires a minimum of two days working onsite in the Los Angeles office.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Partner with divisional Payroll teams to review and document their current payroll processesAssist in defining a common set of standard policies and procedures, optimizing existing divisional payroll best practicesAssist in ongoing process improvement initiatives across Payroll Shared Services and related compliance processesWork closely with Payroll leadership to identify payroll reporting/analytic needsProvide support for all Workday implementations, upgrades, and testing of new functionality and system changesProvide ad-hoc analysis as requested by the Payroll leadership teamProvide support from initiation to completion for Workday issues and change requests submitted by Payroll Shared Services, including participation and/or support of user acceptance testingSupport end-to-end payroll processing in compliance with company policies, tax regulations, and labor lawsWork with the Payroll team to ensure all Payroll issues are recorded, prioritized, and trackedDocument and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and flowcharts for all Payroll Shared Services processes to ensure complete, accurate, and up-to-date depiction of processesServe as a functional Workday Payroll and Time and Attendance SME. Analyze current Workday payroll and time and attendance processes and make recommendations for improvement or simplificationDevelop, report, and review payroll metrics to identify trends and process improvement opportunities, escalating issues, and propose solutions as appropriateAssist in the development of a payroll metrics dashboardManage specific project assignments and participate in functional or cross-functional task groups and project teams as assignedBuild strong working relationships with teammates, cross-functional departments, and managementWHAT YOU WILL NEED
5+ years of experience as a Workday gross to net core functional matter expert5+ years of hands-on payroll experience, preferably in the union and entertainment industryExperience with case management tools and metric reportingHands-on experience with Workday Report Writer, Calculated Fields, and EIBsCertified Payroll Professional (CPP)Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills to effectively research and extract pertinent data and information from multiple sources to provide guidance and/or resolve issuesEffective communication, documentation, and flowcharting skillsFamiliarity with Workday integrations (payroll providers, banking systems, benefits)Familiarity with SOX compliance and payroll audit controlsIntermediate Excel using VLOOKUP’s, pivots, and chartsAbility to successfully manage multiple competing priorities simultaneouslyRecent and relevant experience supporting high-volume, multi-state, and multi-entity payroll environments.Technical knowledge of Payroll functions and laws and regulations impacting payrollWorking knowledge of online meeting and collaboration tools (Zoom, Slack, etc.)#LI-DNI

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $85,000.00-96,000.00 annually for high cost labour markets such as but not limited to New York City and Los Angeles, $70,800.00-80,000.00 annually for all other US locations. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents.
