Key Responsibilities:

As the Senior Payroll Specialist, you will ensure pay checks are processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations which includes US taxpayers and non-US taxpayers. Your focus will be the International Assignee population and you may also be required to support the US domestic payroll for both salaried and hourly employees. You will ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations related to timekeeping, tax payments, and any garnishments or levies for US employees. Your focus on the International Assignees payroll may include processing allowances and deductions necessary for global expat employees across over 50 countries. You will work with overseas business partners and managers to ensure the allowances are recorded accurately utilizing Workday HRIS inclusive of Benefits & Payroll modules.

You will enter and maintain accurate data and run reports through interfaces with automated payroll, timekeeping and general ledger systems. You will assist other team members in all levels of payroll/HR-related tasks to provide the best customer service to the employees and management.

This position is fast paced with high volume and requires extreme attention to detail, solution oriented and analytical thinking. 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Runs the biweekly or monthly process(es) for one or more of the following payrolls: Domestic US, International US Taxpayers and/or International Non-US Taxpayers Payrolls. Process on demand payments and separation payments, which may include wire.Manages and reviews allowances and deductions processed through Workday.Prepares federal and state payroll tax reports.Ensures full compliance of Payroll processes and procedures with all Federal, State and local regulations.Autonomously processes New Hires, Separations, Transfers etc. Processes tax levies, wage garnishments, and bankruptcy notices, including correspondence with outside agencies .Enters and manages data from Workday and other sources for Payroll. Timely responds to employees’ inquiries and manages the shared payroll mailbox.Responds to/supports Business Partners with complex issues, including supporting business partners calculate separation payments, pro-ration of allowances, and updating deductions.Researches and resolves issues with Workday/ADP, third party vendors, etc.   Researches, audits, reports, responds to various issues and challenges.  Responds to audits and internal/ external auditors.Trains and coaches regional business partners to ensure globally consistent processes.Prepares journal entries, accounting inquiries, reclassifications. Responsible for numerous monthly journal entries for one or more payrolls, including charge backs to various entities, countries, departments reclassifications etc. Responsible for investigating and resolving JE queries with payroll accounting team.Creates and processes Pension /403b Contribution to vendors, verification/reconciliation of settlements between Workday and ADP Smart Compliance.Develops and implements overall payroll procedures by documenting and evaluating current processes and suggesting methods to improve operations, efficiency and service. Audits current payroll practices and procedures. Handles federal and state agency audits and maintains close contact with regulatory agencies.Year End Processing including issuing W2’s and preparing W2C’s where needed.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS

5-7 years of Payroll end to end payroll processing experience with knowledge of multi-state US full cycle payroll(s)​​ and International payrolls.High School Diploma, college degree preferred. General Accounting courses and/or Payroll courses through the American Payroll Association. Experience with Workday Payroll.Strong communications skills along with customer service approach to payroll inquires. Generally Accepted Payroll Practices. Intermediate Excel skills – VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Charts, IF, Date, Time functions and has used them in formulas.  Working knowledge of domestic payroll laws. Experience with expat payroll processing.Experience working with time and attendance data and systems. Experience of working with ADP Smart compliance.Advanced Excel.Experience with US International Taxpayers.

For positions filled in the United States, the typical salary range for this role is $72,000 USD to $90,000 USD. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, job level, internal equity and budget. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, experience and geographic location.
