Senior Payroll Specialist

ResponsibilitiesSupport on the processing of the company’s payrolls for circa 6,000 employeesProcess all payroll transactions according to HMRC regulations and internal payroll processes.Calculate statutory payments accurately such as Statutory Maternity Pay, Statutory Sick PayCalculate manual payments as and when requiredResolve employee payroll related queries in a timely mannerComplete third party payments for pensions, court orders etc.Produce financial reports as requested by the finance teamComplete payroll reconciliations on a monthly basisAssist with the tax year end proceduresAssist with the production of P11d’sPrioritise and manage your workload to meet the payroll deadlinesKeep up to date with any changes to statutory regulations and internal payroll processesAny other duties necessary as required by the Payroll Manager

Requirements

A strong payroll backgroundPrevious experience of processing a payroll end to end is desirable but not essentialKnowledge of SD Worx/Ceridian payroll system would be advantageA good understanding of PAYE procedures and Pension Auto Enrolment regulationsExperience in the administration of salary sacrifice arrangementsAbility to work under pressure keeping to tight deadlinesGood verbal and written communication skillsExcellent organisational skillsExperienced in dealing with confidential informationA great team player who communicates effectively with colleagues and customersStrong numerical skillsAbility to work independently with minimal supervision where necessaryStrong Microsoft Office skills – Excel and WordKnowledge of Workday would be advantage but not essential
