Our goal in Payroll Operations is to support the employee experience by providing accurate and timely compensation to all employees. We must maintain compliance with legal and regulatory requirements for 13 FEINs across 50 states and its territories, including filing and monthly GL reconciliation. In addition, we must deliver a seamless experience for our employees through the Employee Experience Guiding Principles, including the adoption and promotion of employee self-help tools, automation and constant review of service levels.
As a Senior Payroll Specialist, you will administer all aspects of daily and bi-weekly payroll processing, including adhering to strict payroll processing timelines, computing wages and overtime payments, and calculating, validating and confirming gross to net wages. You will research and resolve payroll issues and explain or interpret complex information for our employees. You will also assist the Payroll team with various projects as requested.
Execute the daily operation of the Workday payroll system; review and approve pay/tax data deletions, changes, and additions for accuracy (e.g., state to state transfers, company changes, tax changes).Communicate and verify information with employees, managers and/or business partners, as needed. Oversee the garnishment process, initiate daily ADP garnishment file and analyze results; process WRIT orders and credit invoices from ADP to refund employees on seized garnishments; send orders to ADP for processing.Run and analyze payroll reports, make corrections and file for compliance. Process off cycle checks (new hires, terminations, leaves of absence, severance payments, deceased wages, etc.) according to internal process and state laws.Distribute off/on-cycle paychecks to employees using on-file mailing addresses. Identify, reconcile and resolve overpayments with employees and business partners.Escalate issues to payroll leadership.Process ACH reject report from bank; review/verify for accuracy on the relevant pay run and process corrections.Maintain knowledge of SOX and internal RCSA compliance.Process requests or identified errors (e.g., help request tickets), evaluate corrective action, complete relevant form, input data to submit reversal or stop on check, and reverse payment in WD/YTD Earnings, as appropriate. Maintain, analyze and supply monthly metric reports.Resolve help request cases related to earnings, taxes, and deductions. Run daily settlement process in Workday.Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.What you haveRequired Qualifications
6+ years of experience with full cycle, multi-state payroll processingWorkday payroll experience.Experience with payroll software and data querying is required.Preferred Qualifications
Certified Payroll Certification/Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or closely related field preferred.Proficiency in Excel (e.g. vlook-ups, pivot tables, formulas).Knowledge of State and Federal payroll laws and regulations. Ability to develop, maintain and strengthen internal and external partnerships and effectively collaborate with others.High attention to accuracy and quality of work.Ability to set and achieve high performance goals.Experience innovating and improving processes to promote efficiency, accuracy, and productivity.Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify, evaluate and solve complex problems.Proven success exceling in both team and independent work environments.What’s in it for you
