How You’ll Make an Impact as a Sr. Payroll Tax Analyst

The Senior Payroll Tax Analyst will be responsible for ensuring that all federal, state, and local payroll taxes are accurately calculated, withheld, and reported in compliance with tax laws and regulations. This position will also be responsible for responding to tax agency inquiries, filing tax returns, reconciling payroll tax accounts, and ensuring that the payroll tax system is updated and maintained to reflect changes in tax laws and regulations.

Making an Impact:

• Manage and process the accurate and timely payment of federal, state, and local payroll taxes, including employee withholdings, employer contributions, and employer taxes.

• Reconcile payroll tax accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of tax filings and payments.

• Respond to tax agency inquiries and notices in a timely manner.

• Prepare and file payroll tax returns on a regular basis, including quarterly and annual returns, and ensure that they are filed in compliance with tax laws and regulations.

• Monitor changes in payroll tax laws and regulations and ensure that payroll tax systems are updated accordingly.

• Assist in the preparation of year-end tax reporting, including W-2s

• Work with cross-functional teams to resolve payroll tax issues and implement process improvements.

• Assist with internal and external payroll tax audits.

• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and guidelines related to payroll tax.

Your Typical Day and Other Key Details:

• Ensure accurate and timely processing of tax filings and payments for U.S. Canada and Puerto Rico Federal withholdings (W-2, T-4, and RL-1), state withholdings and unemployment taxes.

• Works on special projects as required, including acquisitions, mergers and divestments, internal and external audits, W2 and W2c balancing, and T-4s

• Correct reconciliation errors where needed to prepare/file amended returns as necessary

• Research and respond to Federal, State and Local tax agency tax notices

• Assist with reporting requirements for the Dept. of Labor Reporting, Multiple Worksite Reporting, and Bureau of Labor Statistics

• Other accountabilities as assigned.
