Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced Sr Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Designer with extensive expertise in schematic capture and PCB layout. The ideal candidate will work closely with electrical and mechanical engineers and must possess excellent communication skills. This role requires a deep understanding of the tools used in the manufacturing of PCBs and mechanical housings, as well as knowledge of how electro-mechanical components interconnect. Additionally, the candidate should have a solid grasp of the wiring needs for systems and wired components.
ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to design and layout PCBs.Utilize tools for schematic capture and PCB layout.Understand and implement the wiring needs for systems and components.Execute tasks with minimal supervision.Perform drafting, dimensioning, and tolerance analysis independently.Essential SkillsProficiency in Altium Designer (Schematic and Layout), PADS Designer, PADS Logic, and Autodesk AutoCAD 2022.Experience with 3D Mechanical Design Software, specifically Autodesk Inventor 2022.Basic knowledge of industry standards including IPC-6012, IPC-6013, IPC-2221, IPC-2222, IPC-222.Ability to design with consideration for customer, engineering, and manufacturing needs.Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT) is preferred.Additional Skills & QualificationsDetail-oriented with strong communication skills.Work Environment
Our Client is an electronics company that designs and manufactures satellite communication systems for the aerospace, space, and defense industry. They are located in Nassau County, NY and employ over 200 engineers and manufacturing personnel. The work attire is casual, and the company provides lab coats to wear over clothes. Working hours are from 7:30am-5:15pm, with every other Friday off. They offer a comprehensive benefit package including Health Insurance, Dental and Vision, Life Insurance, Short and Long-Term Disability, Flexible spending options, and 401K. Additionally, they provide paid time off including Vacation, Sick days, and Paid Holidays. Employees also get a whole week off between Christmas and New Year’s that doesn't come out of PTO. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
9/80 work weeks. Employees complete 80 hours of week in 9 days and have every other Friday off (three day weekend every other weekend)
Company provides contractors with paid holidays (matching internal employee holidays) after 30 days
Company is located near public transportation
