Job Summary

The PCB Layout Engineer will support and implement hardware engineering projects for Energy and Transportations Solutions products, ensuring product specifications can be maintained throughout the product lifecycle. This role will work with hardware designers and engineers throughout the full product development lifecycle, creating or modifying PCB outlines, component placement, and routing. The PCB Layout Engineer designs and attends to project activities for compliance with system design and development guidelines/standards, providing tangible feedback to improve product quality and mitigate failure risk.
In this role, your responsibilities will be:
Layouting simple and complex PCBs using Computer Aided Design tools. Designs often include 2-layer to 16-layer PCBs with power supply, analog, digital, and high-speed circuitry Working in a collaborative environment, holding design reviews, and analyzing electrical schematics and supporting documents Working on PCB Designs on existing products and ensuring regulatory and product performance requirements are met Acting as liaison to Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Agency Compliance, and PCB vendors Generating deliverables related to PCB design for vendor and factory use Collaborating with manufacturing engineers to ensure designs meet manufacturability standards Consulting with mechanical engineers on the circuit board enclosures and board interconnect design

For This Role, You Will Need:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or any related field. Minimum 4 years of related work experience in Hardware Engineering, including: Hardware Printed Circuit Boards for Analog & Digital Circuit Design and High-density Designs with microcontrollers, microprocessors and FPGA Highly proficient in Altium Working knowledge and experience in PCB design and layout; component placement and signal routing Understanding of best practices for the layout of high-speed digital communications technologies Ability to optimally communicate product architectures, design proposals, and negotiate options to design authority Proven strong communication skills with ability to relay technical information in English (verbal, written, and interpersonal) Analytical ability to resolve and develop solutions to moderately complex problems Flexibility to respond to urgent project requests and changing priorities Experience working (either by telephone, e-mail, or directly) with people in multiple countries and cultures, exchanging information
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
Familiarity with schematic (DxDesigner) design tools or creation of schematic and library creations Experience in creating and maintaining component libraries across multiple design locations Experience with Product Lifecycle Management systems Experience with VBScript or related skills
