We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated People Services Generalist to join our dynamic team. This mid-level role reports directly to the Manager, People Services and is focused on fostering a positive employee experience while driving growth, success, and engagement across the organization. The Generalist will contribute to HR initiatives that make AVP a better place to work, aligning with our mission and values.

The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of HR experience, with hands-on knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and Employee Relations, and be a proactive and compassionate problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced, people-centered environment. This candidate will possess a great attitude, strong communication skills, and a passion for helping employees succeed. The ideal candidate will have experience in organizations with 1,000+ employees.

Responsibilities Serves as first point of contact for employee relations matters. Works independently to provide consultation if applicable and escalates more complex ER cases to Manager, People Services.Works with Manager, People Services to resolve all ER issues in a timely and compliant manner with the best possible outcomes. Tracks all ER issues in the ER tracker.Handles employee leaves of absence (LOA) including FMLA, ADA, and Worker’s Compensation. Works directly with leaders, 3rd party administrators and employees on LOA needs. Works directly with Manager, People Services on ADA and other protected claims.Responds to requests for information, including unemployment claims, workers compensation documentation and other request for information.Maintains the ‘People Services Inbox.’ Responds to all inquiries in a timely, pleasant manner to ensure internal customer satisfaction.Administers continuing education program. Updates and maintains records, sets up new users, makes recommendations for continual policy enhancement/improvement.Partners with People Services leaders to design, implement and update company policies.Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.Serves as a Field People Services liaison as needed, which may include travel to locations People Services related things such as employee relations issues, benefits presentations, etc.Assists People Services team and leaders with new and recurring HR projects.Works collaboratively with other PS teams (Payroll, Onboarding, Talent Acquisition) to ensure a positive employment experience.Creates a positive and supportive HR culture.Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field highly preferredSHRM-CP and/or PHR highly preferred (Required if no college degree)3+ years experience in HRExperience with LOAs, FMLA, ADA, Employee Relations and Investigations requiredKnowledge of Workers Comp preferredStrong knowledge of DOL and labor law compliance (FLSA, OSHA, FMLA, etc.)Exceptional communication and interpersonal skillsPhenomenal attitude and heart for peopleAbility to travel up to 25% and be a regular presence among AVP offices Benefits & Perks
