Hybrid work
Udemy is headquartered in San Francisco with global offices in Australia, India, Ireland, Türkiye, and other US locations. Our robust hybrid work model spans San Francisco, Denver, Ankara, Dublin, and Melbourne.

About you
You are a specialist in the design and delivery of talent planning and performance management systems. You can shift between presenting to senior executives and garnering their input to driving work through a matrixed team seamlessly. You love taking an early prototype and growing it into a world class talent process utilizing design thinking methods and cross-functional input/collaboration. You are known for your knowledge of performance management, succession and workforce planning approaches.
About this role:
You will operate as an individual contributor, drawing on skills from across the people team as needed (project-based teaming) You will be working closely with the people partner team in understanding the business needs and maturity and partner with the, learning team to design well informed solutions. You will design and develop talent planning and performance product and deliver them through a team of learning and people partners Reporting to the VP, of Global People Partners and BEDI, you will work together to design the strategy and implementation plan for Talent Planning and Performance Management programs.
What you'll be doing:
Advancing our current approaches to talent planning and performance management.
Performance Management: Lead the development and execution of our performance management and calibration cycle, ensuring alignment and integration with the goal and compensation cycles. Utilize data and analytics to assess cycle performance and efficacy as well as leverage data as an input to the talent planning process.
Develop and implement a comprehensive performance management framework that fosters a culture of continuous feedback, employee engagement, listening to drive impact and accountability. Drive the annual performance review process, ensuring alignment with company goals. Implement modern tools and methodologies to improve real-time performance feedback and engagement.Talent & Succession Planning: Lead the development and execution of our talent and succession planning strategy. Partner with senior leadership to understand current leadership pipelines and identify and communicate gaps. Establish a metrics and reporting system to track the efficacy of interventions.
Collaboration & Influence: Work with a variety of stakeholders across the people team, senior leadership and executive staff to gather input and create buy-in for talent planning and performance efforts.Data & Analytics: Design measurement strategies, collect data and use data analysis approaches to inform process enhancements and/or drive strategic talent decisions.
About your skills:
Product/Solution design: You have strong product design skills and can move from concept to prototype easily. You are excellent at coming up with new ideas and sharing them with your team in a sketched out or ‘initial draft’ form - you aren’t afraid of taking early risks with a ‘back of a napkin’ design.
Performance and skill measurement: You are proficient in designing ways to evaluate performance and skills that leverage best practices and mitigate typical concerns like rater bias. You write strong items, assessments and are comfortable with algorithmic approaches. Consulting: You have strong consulting and systems thinking skills. You can see beyond the presenting problem, get underneath it, and draft up potential solutions. Influencing: You can influence and develop relationships effectively, up, down, and across the organization. You are capable of scoping a solution and ensuring that people feel heard when providing input and can see themselves and their ideas making an impact. Communication: You have strong presentation and facilitation skills, able to powerfully communicate and interact with senior leaders in front of a room, virtually, in-person and through other vehicles. While this work is based more on the skills a person has, than what they have done, we think a typical profile could include the following:
8+ years of progressive HR experience, with experiences focused on designing and delivering performance management and succession planning programs. Experience working within a high-growth, fast-paced organization delivering leadership products and solutions Strong understanding of HR analytics, workforce planning, and BEDI best practices. Proficiency in HRIS, performance management software, and data analytics tools.Preferred Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Psychology, or related field (Master’s or HR certification preferred).
