Marsh is seeking a highly experienced Senior Placement Broker to join our Power & Renewables team in Dubai. This is a critical role within Marsh Specialty, responsible for leading the placement of complex insurance programs across the IMEA region.
Power & Renewables is the fastest-growing segment within Energy & Power, both globally and regionally. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on high-profile projects, from conventional power plants to cutting-edge renewables and giga-developments, shaping risk solutions for some of the world’s most ambitious energy transitions.
Your Role: Driving the Future of Power & Renewables Insurance
1. Lead Placement for High-Value Power & Renewables Clients
- Serve as the lead broker for a portfolio of major power clients, developing and executing tailored placement strategies.
- Secure optimal terms and conditions through strategic market negotiations and deep client insights.
- Work across all stages of the project lifecycle – from construction and operational phases to risk transfer for pioneering energy technologies.
2. Build & Strengthen Market Relationships
- Leverage and expand Marsh’s global and regional insurer relationships to secure best-in-class solutions.
- Maintain strong market intelligence, understanding emerging trends, capacity shifts, and insurer appetites.
- Mentor and guide junior brokers, instilling best practices in market engagement and deal structuring.
3. Drive Business Growth & Innovation
- Play a pivotal role in business development, leading Marsh’s response to major tenders and prospecting initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal teams – Client Executives, Engineering, Analytics, and Claims – to deliver holistic risk solutions.
- Shape Marsh’s position as the go-to risk advisor for Power & Renewables clients navigating complex regulatory and contractual landscapes.
4. Ensure Operational Excellence & Regulatory Compliance
- Maintain rigorous governance, ensuring adherence to DIFC and other regional regulatory requirements.
- Champion operational discipline, ensuring seamless execution of placements and risk processing.
- Safeguard client engagements by ensuring contractual protections are properly structured.
What You Bring to the Role
- 10+ years of insurance experience, with at least 5 years in placement (preferably in Conventional and Renewables Power).
- Proven expertise in designing and executing complex risk placements for large-scale energy projects.
- Strong relationships across global and regional insurance markets.
- Deep understanding of Power Generation, Utilities, Transmission, and Distribution risk dynamics.
- Strategic thinking with commercial acumen to drive business growth.
- Exceptional negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Leadership qualities with a collaborative and mentorship mindset.
