Position Summary:
The Planning Sr. Manager will oversee +$2.5b in worldwide planning responsibility. The Sr. Manager will lead an operationally-minded team to define a practical, achievable, accurate plan that will support aggressive growth and supply reliability of no less than 98% daily line item fill rate. As part of this plan and process of creating it, there is conscious consideration for it’s monetary cost to the company, its impact on the supply base / supply continuity, and the forward-looking sustainability of revenue growth within the company.
Essential Functions:
Own Supply Chain’s plan being realistic, reliable, predictable, and accurate.
Consolidate all sources of demand and have that demand reconciled against rational spend and commercial targets, being able to articulate to executives the plan relative to commercial impact, operational readiness to achieve it, and financial implications. This should result in the reconciled Plan never being more than divisional planned % of COGS relative to revenue.
Identify and mitigate supply risks & issues, while driving for continuous improvement in all systems that affect the ability for the plan to be realistic, reliable, predictable, and accurate. This should result in worldwide backorders less than 1% of revenue, and within that 1% have less than 0.15% of backorder dollars be waiting on POs not yet due.
Act as the focal point for forecast accuracy, forecast entry, customer order fill rate level, monthly set build plan and plan achievement, inventory management, and inventory allocation / prioritization schema. This plan should result in supply deliveries of +90% to Plan and worldwide forecast accuracy (Mean Absolute Percent Error) of A items +85%, B items +70%, C items +40%.
Build attainable demand plans in coordination with the current and future business needs, as well as, align plan to be congruent with supplier capabilities and rough-cut capacity analysis. Drive and influence such that supply is where the plan needs to be, and ensure any throttling of demand is mitigated. This should result in both a capacity constrained plan that is communicated with projections to commercial and a +80% ability to deliver what commercial has requested within lead time.
Analyze market trends and conditions to anticipate price changes vendors, supply interruptions, as well as, ensuring supply stays ahead of demand trends at Project level. This should result in increased inventory turn metrics, which has targets are set annually and trending to +2.5.
Oversee the transition of New Product Introduction into standard maintenance Planning/Purchasing routines and ensure mapping and other ERP functionality is operating as planned.
Align New Territories, Market Introductions Plans, and new surgery set deployments in time such that they are able to be supplied. Closely work with the Field Asset Management and Product Development Teams to ensure alignment and communication of this plan to Sales and Finance.
Manage inventory level, flow, and location from the point inventory is received to the point of order shipment against customer requirement. Ensure proper inventory analysis and inventory investment against requirements are done on a regular basis, making corrections and recommendations as needed.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management operations or data management
Minimum of 4 years of supply chain management experience with increasing roles of responsibility; medical device environment preferred
Strong MRP/ERP experience
Strong quantitative and qualitative analytic skills with the ability to formulate conclusion through reporting
Ability to lead a team while working in a collaborative environment; excellent interpersonal communication skills
Advanced in Microsoft Office Suite with a focus in Excel and other analytic reporting tools
Must be detail oriented and team player capable of working in a deadline dictated environment
Able to handle multiple projects with varying deadlines and also an ability to adapt quickly to changing demands/needs
Possesses a strong desire to win and be a part of the solution.
