WHAT TO EXPECT

The Plant Maintenance Manager will lead all maintenance activities for the Nitra Plant, including overall accountability for the planning, control and delivery of all maintenance targets, activities and associated Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People and Environment metrics for the maintenance area.  Also responsible for spare parts management & Energy strategy, Site Services, soft services and central maintenance planning teams.

 

On Nitra site will be a key player in the plant senior leadership team supporting cross-manufacturing and corporate initiatives and contributing to development of the plant strategy. The role will also be responsible for continuous improvement activities in all aspects of delivery, seeking and sharing best practice and maintenance improvements across the area as well as the wider JLR production network.

 

THE ROLE


Key Responsibilities

 

Lead, engage and develop a large maintenance team of JLR technicians, leaders and managers Manage the day-to-day maintenance activities and support production for the BiW, Paint, Trim, OTA, Energy centrum and Site services Provide a safe working environment and safety leadership across the plant. Ensure all potential risks are identified and mitigated with strict process adherence and all corrective actions are implemented from any accidents Develop a five-year Maintenance strategy including non-product capital expenditure projects to maintain and improve the current facility and process. Develop strategies with support functions and contractors to ensure their objectives are fully aligned and support Plant objectives Manage the cost budget to include labour, spare parts, consumables, scrap, repairs and service contracts and continually seeks efficiencies in all areas Work closely with other departments (Manufacturing Engineering, Purchasing, suppliers, launch etc.) in the delivery of new models and represents the Plant in a range of meetings/forums including Maintenance Technology Forum, Energy Technology Forums and best practice meetings Prepare and lead all weekend and shut down activities with internal and external departments/suppliers To manage the continuity of supply of all utilities, electricity both HV and LV, gas, water, compressed air to the site to meet the production demand requirements and contracts To lead the site buildings, services and infrastructure maintenance program to ensure that all site assets and utilities meet specific/ legislative requirements. Knowledge of legislative environment (SK/EU) Drive improvements in infrastructure asset care to drive efficiencies alongside budget management with the ability to identify opportunities for future investments Project management (RFQ – Request for quotation, handover - take over process)

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

 

Essential

 

Previous experience on running self-sufficient automotive factories without continuous supplier support Passionate about driving discipline into the breakdown recovery processes and systematic diagnosis and documentation of fault-finding routines Focus on problem-solving and able to train a cross functional team on effective troubleshooting Ability to collaborate with an international supplier base to define the most effective support and spares strategies Ability to identify and address training needs, as well as technical gaps and performance issues Ability to benchmark and implement best practices in the industry, both internal and external to JLR Extensive previous experience of Maintenance Management at management level including consistent delivery in high pressure fast-paced lean manufacturing environments Demonstrable experience in the application of a logical approach to Problem Solving and LEAN Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders at all levels; including delivering presentations to work groups and senior management Demonstrated evidence of effective business behaviours (JLR leadership framework) Experience of two or more maintenance technologies (Stampings, BIW, Paint, T&F) preferred Relevant education engineering/technical university degree and equivalent experience

Demonstrable knowledge of Legislative and Industry Standards in Automotive Microsoft package elements Power Point and Excel Thorough Understanding and Application of Lean Tools and Techniques Proven Project Management Experience Communication skills Slovak and English language level
