We are looking for a dedicated Senior Platform Engineer like you to be a part of our team. **Job Summary and Qualifications** JOB SUMMARY Provide technical skills that cover a broad range of disciplines and technologies of significance to HCA. Assist with technical projects assigned with minimal supervision while managing customer impacting issues. Become proficient in new technologies and technical disciplines that are of significance to HCA Healthcare. Provide in depth technical review, engineering, administration, analysis, trending, and reporting of all supported configurations. Exhibit advanced analytical and design ability, high degree of creativity and in-depth knowledge of business implications for technical approaches, directions and solutions. Be results driven with good communication and collaboration skills as a team player. Demonstrate commitment to continuous self-improvement. Primary duties will include design, build and high-level administration of hardware and software solutions in a large and complex multi-platform environment while working within change management policies and approval chains, managing project deliverables and risk, helping to solve complex problems, and collaborating with a wide range of colleagues, customers and partners. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES Assist with strategic planning, designing, building, and maintaining highly complex enterprise solutions on many different infrastructure technologies with a very strong engineering mindset. Advanced knowledge and accountability for at least one specific technology across various stages of its lifecycle, backup for at least one other technology, and knowledgeable of all technologies supported by the team. Communicate effectively with co-workers, vendors, other teams, end users, business owners and leaders to achieve quality outcomes that lead to success. A technical lead for projects, ensuring solution designs meet requirements and standards, while taking responsibility and proactively identifying risks to timeline, budget or technical requirements. Participate in personal development training to improve skills and technical knowledge. On Call rotation, responding to engagements from 1st level operations teams to provide production fixes and root cause analysis, collaborating with other technical teams as necessary. Provide Level 3 support for all production related problems and concerns as situations warrant AREA OF EXPERIENCE • 2+ years of experience supporting VMWare vSphere and server infrastructure computing solutions across platforms significant to HCA in a large and complex environment. • Experience with one or more of the following technologies is also highly desired: Cisco UCS, Intersight, VMWare’s Automation, Orchestration and Operations Products (vra,vro,vrops), Nutanix, infrastructure automation scripting and integrations. • Demonstrated written, oral, interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to learn and work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment is essential. • Solid understanding and experience with both bare metal and virtualized server concepts and practical implementation of those fundamentals in a large-scale production environment, including performance and capacity metric analysis and advanced troubleshooting. EXPERIENCE Qualified candidates must have 5 years of experience CERTIFICATIONS PREFERRED • VMWare, Cisco, ITIL, CompTIA EDUCATION REQUIRED • Related college degree highly preferred but comparable experience acceptable SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS • Capable of working effectively under a high pressure and demanding work environment. • Capable of working effectively in a diverse, virtual team-oriented environment. • Must be a self-starter and work effectively with minimal supervision. • Must be customer-oriented and recognize the importance of customer service and meeting service level commitments. • Must be committed to quality and timeliness of assigned deliverables and milestones.
