Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Define, document, develop, and deliver analytics that effectively communicate data narratives and drive actionable insights. Collaborate with business partners to create highly interactive front-end solutions.
Support data analytics projects by providing expertise in analytics methodologies, processes, and standards.
Establish and maintain reporting standards and common terminology, ensuring alignment of reporting requests with these standards.
Collaborate with data engineers to update data schemas and accommodate new reporting requirements.
Develop interactive visual reports, dashboards, charts, and KPI scorecards using Microsoft Power BI Desktop.
Analyze, design, deploy, troubleshoot, and support Power BI solutions.
Provide guidance to the internal Data Analytics team, IT, and business users on data visualization best practices and tools.
Participate in data analytics design reviews and create/deliver user training sessions.
Oversee user acceptance testing to ensure solutions meet business needs.
Education
Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) in computer science, information systems, informatics, statistics or another quantitative field or equivalent.
In lieu of degree 8 or more years of relevant experience
A Master’s Degree or Data engineering certification (e.g, IBM Certified Data Engineer) is a plus
Skills/Experience
5+ years of experience as a data engineer or in a related role within a global organization, with significant hands-on technology delivery experience.
Minimum of 3 years of recent experience in custom Power BI development, including Power BI Report Builder, Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, Tabular Editor, ALM Toolkit, and DAX Studio, with expertise in writing complex DAX and SQL queries and implementing role-level security.
A portfolio of previous work such as dashboards and reports examples, is required.
Strong understanding of data modeling concepts, data schemas (normalized, flat, star, snowflake, etc.), and query optimization techniques.
Familiarity with Power BI Embedded, Power BI REST API endpoints, and Power BI Premium Capacity.
Preferred experience with Microsoft Power Platform tools, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Azure Data Factory, Azure Analysis Services, Synapse, Databricks, and Azure Data Lake Storage.
Knowledge of data visualization principles, including color theory, shape representation, and user-centered design, with strong communication skills.
Solid background in data analytics, including experience in developing use cases and generating insights through visualization.
Familiarity with Machine Learning and Deep Learning concepts is a plus.
Experience working with unstructured datasets and optimizing reporting platform performance.
Strong numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to collaborate with technical teams to influence algorithms and enhance customer experience.
Certification as a Microsoft Certified Data Analyst a plus.
Must be able to travel up to 15 – 20%
