As a technical leader, you will emphasize technical excellence, work closely with the design team and provide the necessary technical leadership required to deliver projects that satisfy client expectations. You will be a champion of quality and provide regular feedback to the team on areas of improvement. **Your Key Responsibilities** * Design infrastructure for power utilities to meet project requirements * Develop design solutions that meet all applicable codes, standards and regulations * Lead technical design discussions, internally and externally, to ensure scope objectives are met * Review and authenticate drawings for power distribution projects * Provide construction support * Support development of proposals, project cost estimates and project schedules * Manage external client relationships through effective and timely communication * Identify potential safety or environmental concerns and initiate appropriate action * Provide coaching and guidance to project team members * Provide technical guidance to customers, stakeholders, and external consultants * Travel and perform site visits as required " **Your Capabilities and Credentials** * Registered P.Eng in Canada * Demonstrated technical proficiency in utility infrastructure design * Effective Interpersonal Skills – Strong Written and Verbal skills are a must, to ensure clear communication between team members, clients, contractors, and suppliers * Able to work effectively both independently under minimal supervision, and as a member of a team in a multi-disciplinary environment * Strong time management and prioritization skills * Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to set priorities, organize work and complete work within given timelines * PLSCAD or SPIDAcalc knowledge would be an asset * Valid Class 5 Driver’s License **Education and Experience** * Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering * Minimum of 8 years of experience designing power utility infrastructure within North America Typical office environment working with computers; Stantec offers a flexible work environment (a hybrid model of working in the office and at home).
