Senior BI Platform Engineer

  We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated BI Platform Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will have extensive experience and expertise in technologies such as Power BI, Qlik and BI Architecture. They should possess strong leadership qualities and be influential in driving the implementation and maintenance of our BI platform.  Chubb's Global Data Platform (GDP ) team manages multi cloud Data and Analytics capabilities and is responsible for cutting edge technlogies like Azure, Kubernetes, DataBricks, OpenAI, Informatica, Dataiku, Alteryx, PowerBI and Qlik. Our Technology teams are dedicated to creating competitive advantages in products, customer services and business costs by driving digital transformation in our business with a modernized focus on agile methodology and data analytics.

Responsibilities

Ideal candidate will be a highly skilled BI Platform engineer with deep knowledge of PowerBI and Qlik Platforms. You are a self-starter who is passionate about Business Intelligence Technologies in Data and Analytics space. You are a leader and an influencer, who can work with multiple globally distributed and shared teams and achieve results. Your primary responsibilities will be: 

Maintain and administer our BI platform, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. Design and implement scalable and efficient BI infrastructure and architecture. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand platform requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Lead the implementation and integration of BI tools across the organization. Proactively monitor and optimize the performance of the BI platform  Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and adoption of the BI platform. Assist in the development and implementation of governance and compliance policies within the BI platform Mentor and coach junior platform Engineers. Stay up to date with the latest trends and developments in the BI space, and actively drive the adoption of new technologies and tools when applicable. Provide expert advice and guidance on BI platform-related projects, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives. Collaborate with global teams to ensure consistent and efficient delivery of BI platform services. Stay current with new data technologies and programming models Be self-motivated and creative. Able to function in a Global team structure and are able to influence your priorities with shared infrastructure teams. 

 

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following qualifications, skills, and experience:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field Minimum of 5 years of experience in BI platform engineering or administration roles Expert-level knowledge and hands-on experience with  Power BI, Qlik and other relevant BI platforms Strong understanding of BI Architecture principles, including data integration, ETL processes, and data modeling Proven track record of successfully designing and implementing scalable and secure BI infrastructure Excellent leadership, influencing, and collaboration skills Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills Experience working in a large corporate environment with compliance regulations and global teams Proactive and self-driven, with the ability to work under minimal supervision Strong project management and organizational skills Excellent teamwork and collaboration abilities

Good-to-Have Qualifications: While not essential, the following qualifications and skills would be advantageous:

Professional certifications in BI technologies such as Qlik, Power BI, or similar Familiarity with cloud-based BI platforms, such as Microsoft Azure or AWS Experience with relational databases and optimization Experience in implementing BI platform monitoring and alerting systems.
