Senior Pressure Systems Engineer 
Location: UK – Hersham

Permanent contract, competitive salary, yearly bonus


The pressure systems team provide on-going pressure system and mechanical integrity support for Air Products operating facilities in Europe. The scope of pressure system equipment includes Pressure Vessels, Columns, Heat Exchangers, Fired Heaters, Reformers, Storage Tanks, Piping, Pipelines and Safety Relief Devices.

The role requires understanding of key engineering principles to troubleshoot equipment issues and resolve them effectively and  will include equipment inspection, repair and maintenance activities. Key responsibilities will be to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of pressure systems equipment and support regulatory compliance.
 
As the Senior Pressure Systems Engineer you will: 
 

Provide front line technical expertise on piping, vessel and heat exchanger systems in support of continued operation of the plant. The key drivers being safety, reliability and plant availability.Resolve any issues associated with pressure systems equipment in operating facilities.Provide guidance and expertise on the European Pressure Equipment Directive (PED)Develop repair procedures and inspection/test plans for fabrication and installation of pressure systems.Provide technical guidance to plant operation/maintenance on suitable inspection types and methods.Develop Mechanical Integrity program to ensure safe, reliable, regulatory and efficient operation. The inspection requirements shall satisfy specific European country’s regulation and Air Products’ procedures.

You will have:
 

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.Chartered Engineer with an accredited engineering institute, or equivalent.Extensive experience working with an oil and gas company (specific experience on Pressure Systems with Petrol Chem / Air Separation/ Power industries would be an advantage).Working knowledge of Pressure Vessel & Piping (e.g.  ASME, EN) codes for design, inspection, and repair.Proficiency in Fitness for Service procedures and assessments to Industry Standard e.g. API 571, 579 is essential.Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills in English across all levels. Another spoken language would be an advantage.Some European travel will be required.​
