We're looking for a leader in product management to bring their diverse ideas and lived experience in the software development lifecycle (SDLC) to evolve how Splunk developers build, test, deliver, and observe our products. This role empowers you to be a catalyst for positive change, driving innovation and improvement across the entire software development process. As the leading product manager dedicated to internal developers, your ability to ideate, prioritize, gain buy-in, and effectively roll out changes will be pivotal in shaping the future of our engineering culture and the experience felt by each and every customer. And you would be the key product manager establishing, refining, and executing improvements on that feedback loop.Your peers will be Engineering Directors that lead our Developer Platform pillars (build, test, delivery, observability) as well as Senior Principal Engineers who drive key aspects of the developer experience.What we offer youA constant stream of new things to learn. We trust our colleagues to be responsible with their time and commitment, and believe that balance helps cultivate an outstanding environment.What you will achieve in your first 90 DaysAs with any fast-growing company, day-to-day responsibilities will span the entire product life cycle, delivery pipeline and include deep interaction with customers, sales, and engineering, and Splunk’s global partner organization.First 30 Days - Learn & AlignLearn about our SDLC platform capabilities, gaps, and developer pain points through building relationships with key stakeholders.Establish yourself as an advocate for internal developers as customers, ensuring sustained focus, curiosity, and empathy in problem-solving.Start to define SDLC customer personas and their Jobs-to-Be-Done (JTBD) to create a shared language for better product design.First 60 Days - Define & StrategizeClearly articulate challenges within the SDLC platform/ecosystem, identifying key friction points and opportunities for improvement.Partner with sister teams across the company (from developers to customer support and more) to craft a cohesive story of how product changes reach customers.Champion developer experience by prioritizing and advocating for investments that improve efficiency and reduce friction.First 90 Days - Execute & Drive ImpactCommunicate your exciting vision, strategy, and objectives for our SDLC platform for execution.Launch measurable improvements in engineering effectiveness, leveraging quantitative product KPIs and qualitative stakeholder feedback.Establish scalable developer advocacy mechanisms, ensuring ongoing engagement through feedback loops and developer-focused storytelling.Must-have Qualifications10+ years of product management experience or engineering leadership with a focus on developer tools, platforms, or infrastructure.Strong technical background (e.g., prior engineering experience, CS degree, or equivalent) with a deep understanding of the software development lifecycle.Track record of leadership roles in large tech companies with demonstrated ability to strategically plan and lead both incremental improvements and revolutionary changes for internal developer-facing platforms.Excellent communication skills and a history of collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.Excellent ability to articulate and frame complex technical problems for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Strong data-driven decision-making skills, with experience defining and tracking product KPIs.Nice-to-have QualificationsWe’ve taken special care to separate the must-have qualifications from the nice-to-haves. “Nice-to-have” means just that: Nice. Base Pay Range

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area

Base Pay Range: $212,400.00 - 292,050.00 per year

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts

Base Pay Range: $191,160.00 - 262,845.00 per year

All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.

Base Pay Range: $172,000.00 - 236,500.00 per year

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
