Informa is seeking a Principal Analyst to join its Cloud and Data Center Research Practice. The successful candidate will focus on the global market for cloud services and data center information technology (computing, networking and storage). The candidate needs to be well versed in the technology ecosystem and vendor landscape globally and in China. A deep understanding of the China ecosystem is preferrable. Deliverables include market trackers and reports, custom research projects, survey research, white papers, webinars, and industry speaking engagements. The analyst will work with a team of colleagues located across multiple locations in Europe, Asia and North America.

We’re looking for an analyst with significant industry experience who has produced third-party research assets. Practical engineering experience is considered a big plus. A perspective on data center development and design strategies is another plus. Pre-existing knowledge of the technology industry is essential.

The candidate will need to be able quickly develop strong relationships with technology manufacturers and data center operators. The analyst will have the opportunity to travel internationally and to build a brand for themselves on the technology conference circuit and in the media. A pre-existing industry network across IT OEMs and semiconductor companies is advantageous.

Develop from-scratch high-quality and accurate market size, share, and forecast reports, providing short-term and long-term market analysis, fundamental market drivers, top players and market segment analysis, and product development trendsProduce thought leading research notes on hot topics, including technology shifts, regional and vertical activity, key product announcements, M&As, and moreDevelop and analyse survey data, providing in-depth quantitative and qualitative analysis on trends, drivers, barriers, preferences, and strategiesUsing primary and secondary research to build credible base data and market projections; using credible sources to support forecasts; logging all assumptions and working in a clear way; creating the story around market development /opportunities/risks; develop forecast scenariosForge and maintain relationships with all players in the ecosystem, including software vendors, cloud service providers, equipment manufacturers, end-users, and investment analystsSpeak at conferences and present key data findings to customersForge and maintain relationships with the trade and business pressParticipate in social media to engage with customers and partnersRegularly drive business development with clients and prospects and support account managers to grow data center physical infrastructure research revenue

Qualifications

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering preferred; additional training or graduate degree is a plus.Experience as an industry analyst, product management, or corporate strategy experience related to colocation and cloud service providers.Experience in segmenting, sizing, and forecasting technology markets a plusRelationships with equipment makers, cloud service providers, and other ecosystem players a plusAffinity for working on a dynamic and global team
