Are you ready to join a team of talented engineers and shape the future of water infrastructure? Join our dynamic and multidisciplinary Water Engineering team as a Senior/Principal Mechanical Engineer in our rapidly growing Belfast, Dublin, or Cork offices, while taking advantage of our flexible hybrid working model.

These include major water companies such as Uisce Éireann, Northern Ireland Water, Severn Trent Water, Thames Water, Wessex Water, Tier 1 Contractors, and international projects.

In this role, you'll be involved in all aspects of water utility projects, encompassing both wastewater and potable water schemes, primarily under key client long-term frameworks. You'll support our clients by optimizing existing Mechanical assets to deliver efficient solutions.

Here’s what you’ll do:

Produce feasibility studies, outline design, detailed design, and provide construction support.Liaise and collaborate with our water and other discipline teams, including civil, electrical, process, and mechanical engineers nationwide.Deliver high-quality technical outputs, contribute to bids, and interface with clients and collaborators in design and planning.Ensure projects meet agreed budgets, timelines, and quality standards, and assist in preparing project budgets and schedules.Design mechanical installations, typically including municipal water and wastewater pumping stations, screens, grit removal plants, penstocks, valves, odor control systems, and pipework.Conduct site visits to perform surveys and support liaisons with clients, contractors, and suppliers.Produce plant layouts, technical specifications, Wimes datasheets, valve schedules, equipment schedules, lifting strategies, and P&IDs.Create pumping station designs, headloss calculations, and pumping system analysis/pump selection.

Qualifications

Ready to push the limits of what’s possible?

Here’s what we’re looking for:

A degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering.Chartered Engineer Status (or approaching chartered status) with a relevant professional institution, such as IET.Proven ability to produce, check, and approve engineering reports, designs, drawings, technical specifications, and calculations.Experience in leading and mentoring a team of engineers and technicians, including line management responsibilities.Extensive experience in water and wastewater projects across feasibility, outline design, detailed design, and construction support.
