Northrop Grumman’s Weapons Systems Division is looking for a Senior Project Manager to support the Armament Systems/NRE/business unit located in Radford, VA.
The primary function of this position will be the responsibility for the risk and opportunity management process for all NRE programs.
Responsibilities include the management of cost, schedule, and technical performance of NRE programs including but not limited to the following:
Develop Risk & Opportunity Management Program for NRE programs.Performs or assures quality, risk management, reliability and maintainability of program achievements, subcontractors, and suppliers in accordance with contractual requirements.Defines and monitors mission assurance program specifications and processes to ensure mission success of programs.Support Return to Green, Failure Analysis and Corrective Action activities as independent resource with focus on full resolution and future risk mitigation.Assess program performance and risks and determines resources to ensure mission assurance and program excellence.Assists in the definition, planning, organizing, directing and controlling risk and opportunity management efforts.Organizes and conducts meetings to facilitate communication and execution of the risk and opportunity management process.Informs and advises higher level management on critical projects risks and mitigationsAssess program issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality and client satisfaction goals and objectives.Measuring and reporting program performance.Develop mechanisms or monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with program managers.Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 8 years’ experience project management experience OR a Masters degree with 6 years of experience. Will consider 12 years of project management experience in place of degree.Experience leading the performance of tasks on schedule, at cost and achieving all requirements.Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office products (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks within critical deadlines.Attention to detail and accuracy.Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills, as well as project management, analytical, planning and presentation skills are required.Proven success managing multiple projects simultaneouslyExperience interfacing with all levels of employees and LeadershipSalary Range: $98,100.00 - $147,100.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
