**The** **Role:** Senior/Principal Research Analyst – Biofuels & Biobunkers
**T** **he Team:** The Biofuels Research and Analytics provides ‘well to wheels’ coverage of the global biofuels market, providing fundamental insights and developing views on the emerging trends that will drive the long-term development of biofuels. The team is responsible for generating long-term forecasts on biofuels supply and demand, and the future value and pricing of biofuels. We forecast product balances and benchmark refining margins, details for national markets around the world as well as guidance on what is an anomaly, and what is a fundamental shift in the market.
The team consists of analysts and researchers worldwide, each covering their respective markets or niches and collaborating with other teams within the broader S&P Global Commodity Insights organization.
**The Impact:** Biobunkers would remain a key component in the decarbonization of the maritime sector, and while presently a nascent market has the potential to see significant growth with the support of transnational decarbonization efforts such as IMO 2030 and MarineFuel EU. The Biofuels Research and Analytics team provides data, strategic research, and analysis across the biofuels value chain so our clients can make critical decisions with confidence. Energy players, agricultural stalwarts, and financial institutions rely on us to better understand markets, policies with our independent outlook to adjust their business strategy.

+ While your focus will be primarily on biobunkers, you will also have a hand in deciphering the biofuels sector on a global scale.
+ You will be collaborating with a global team and have exposure and accessto otherexpertise in associated industries.

+ Monitor and analyze the impacts of changing biofuels-related policies and regulations with a focus on biobunkers.
+ Research and analysis of the biofuels market- covering feedstocks, supply, demand, trade and pricing information from proprietary in-housemodels and publicly available sources.
+ Maintain and update various databases and models which are the backbone of our analysis.
+ Act as a subject matter expert for these markets, contributing to a wide range of S&P Global Commodity Insights publications.
+ Collaborateand support colleagues from other offices within and outside region and other Commodity Insights teams to improve research activities.
**What** **We’re** **Looking For:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, e.g. Economics, Business, etc; a graduate degree is a plus, but not essential.
+ Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in relatedresearch and/or analytical role, typically acquired by working in industry, government, or consulting.
+ Experience in biofuels or other industries, such as energy, agricultural commodities, or refined product markets, would be advantageous.
+ Excellent Excel skills (experience with Excel modelling is a plus) and proficiency with other MS applications (Word and PowerPoint) are required. The ability to program in VisualBasic, Python or R would be a plus.
+ Excellent English writing and presentation skills.
+ A self-starter with the ability to work to deadlines and prioritize a complex workload with limited supervision.
+ Must be flexible with the ability to work collaboratively.
