The Position

The position is located in the Bioprocess Research Department, within the Process Research unit of the pRED’s Large Molecules Research, where the early technical development of next generation biotherapeutics is the primary focus. We closely collaborate with technical and biological functions to convert molecule sequences into innovative therapeutics.

Job mission

We are offering an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Bioprocess Scientist (m/f/d) to work with a highly engaged team of bioprocess, biotechnology, and automation specialists. You will be responsible for the development of downstream processes of next generation antibody-based therapeutic molecules and conjugated molecules/antibody-drug conjugates. In close collaboration with our internal and external partners, you are driving conjugation technologies and strategies to transition innovative molecules to patients for clinical testing. We are looking for an enthusiastic people leader. Your leadership responsibility is to coach approx. ten associates.

Your impact

Contributing to transition molecules form the research phase to patients.Shaping and evolving projects with conjugated molecules (small molecules or oligonucleotides to antibody-based molecules) by applying novel technologies.Supporting the department strategy and supporting the evolution of bioprocess development strategies and platformsCoaching associates to enable growth and development.

Your profile

You thrive in and are dedicated to establishing a culture of mutual support, cross-training, continuous learning and self-organization to meet project and functional goals. Furthermore, you know how to prioritize, how to create clarity and focus. Besides that:

Your extensive professional experience in bioprocessing, esp. downstream processing, of large molecules and conjugated molecules enables you to lead cross-functional teams and support portfolio projects.A PhD in biology, biotechnology or a related field and at least 5 years of professional experience in the biotech or pharma industry is the base of your knowledgeBesides, you are a recognized expert in conjugation technologies to develop antibody-drug conjugates or other conjugates with antibody-based molecuels.You have a keen interest in developing development strategies enabling accelerated project timelines while considering end-to-end requirements.Furthermore, you are resourceful and flexible in problem solving and in working in a collaborative and inclusive manner with strong oral and written communication skills.
