The Emerson Test & Measurement Transportation Business Unit Systems R&D team has an opening for a Senior Software Engineer. In this role, you will work in the design and development of systems from concept to release, providing technical leadership to the development team and execution excellence on all initiatives.
You will develop software for advanced ADAS test platforms that automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers use to create innovative new vehicle architectures.
In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Independently contribute to the design and development of components and features through to final release Review work quality and provide mentorship to junior engineers Ensure adherence to development processes and best practices Facilitate decisions necessary to deliver a quality product in a timely fashion Interact with customers, internal stakeholders, and partners in support of designing and developing measurement systems Identify customer and industry needs and provide ideas for new features in the ADAS application areaWho You Are: You always keep the end in sight and put in extra effort to meet deadlines. You deliver messages in a clear, compelling, and concise manner. You seek new approaches to solve problems. You model collaboration across the organization
For This Role, You Will Need: BS degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field 5+ years of experience in software and systems development Demonstrated success and experience using high-level programming languages (C#, LabVIEW, Python, C++) Strong understanding of systems design, development and testing principles Ability to identify and solve systems engineering problems Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, changing and challenging environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong sense of ownership, accountability and sense of urgency Proficiency in completing projects according to specifications and meeting deadlines English Language competency and effective oral and written communication skills Demonstrated ability to: Lead and work effectively with teams Problem-solve effectively - diagnose technical issues and propose effective solutions Take initiative, be a self-starter, and work independently Quickly learn applicable technology, systems, and products
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart: Understanding of transportation industry, ADAS, HIL (Hardware in the Loop) systems, vehicle bus architectures Experience in Agile methodologies and using Azure DevOps Proven experience in development of integrated hardware and software projects Experience with NI products, including LabVIEW, VeriStand and TestStand
