Northrop Grumman Tactical Space Systems is seeking a Senor Principal Test Engineer. This position is for a full-time senior-level Test Engineer role in Dulles, VA.  The successful candidate will be expected to:

Provide mission operations support to NGSS Satellite programsSupport mission readiness activities including mission rehearsals, mission timeline development, and post launch test developmentSupport launch, including occasional shift work, for spacecraft and payload on-orbit activities; support anomaly resolution effortsProvide mentoring and guidance to the mission operations teamLead internal and external customer meetings through proficient verbal and documented (MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Excel) communicationsExperience reviewing electrical schematics and generating script files for EGSEExperience testing and generating electrical test procedures and designing/operating same EGSE. Experience with both EGSE hardware and software to troubleshoot both test and EGSE issues.May require occasional shift work and travel ~ 20% of the time for customer and program meetings and operations events

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or related discipline with a minimum of 14 years experienceMust have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Security ClearancePrior experience conducting on-orbit mission operations and resolving satellite and ground system anomalies.Support of readiness activities to include; Mission Readiness Tests (MRTs), Mission Rehearsals (MRs), Day In The Life (DITL) and daily operations testingExperience reviewing electrical schematics and generating script files for EGSE.Experience working with National Instruments hardware and LabView.Compile data and defines changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

MS degree with 15+ years related experienceExperience with pressurized systems and spacecraft fueling operationsCurrent Active Security Clearance (TS/SCI)Experience working on government systems and/or government process environmentPrior experience with Northrop Grumman satellite platforms.Experience testing and generating electrical test procedures and designing/operating same EGSE. Experience with both EGSE hardware and software to troubleshoot both test and EGSE issues.Experience designing and building EGSE related to S/C electrical testingFamiliarity with mission operations and customer organizations in Dulles, VA or Gilbert, AZ

Salary Range: $148,000.00 - $171,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
