About the team + roleRobinhood is seeking a forward-thinking Senior Privacy Engineer to join our team. This role is designed to support the broader Privacy Compliance and Engineering function within Robinhood's Security organization.
As part of our team, you will work with various departments within Robinhood to ensure our products and services uphold the highest standards of data privacy, transparency, and trust.

What you’ll doPerform comprehensive privacy engineering reviews as part of Robinhood’s Privacy by Design program. This entails evaluating existing and new technical designs, identifying privacy risks and compliance issues, and recommending technical controls or enhancements to ensure privacy-by-design principles are fully integrated.Work closely with Engineering, Product Management, Legal, and Compliance teams to integrate privacy-by-design principles into product and technology development and business processes.Design comprehensive privacy solutions, developing robust frameworks and strategies to ensure compliance with global data protection regulations.Direct the selection and implementation of privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs). Ensure these technologies are aligned with our privacy strategy and contribute to the robustness of our data protection efforts.Evaluate emerging privacy technologies, frameworks, and regulatory requirements, including potential impact on our privacy strategy and recommend adjustments to maintain compliance and enhance data protection.Drive initiatives to facilitate knowledge sharing and best practices in data privacy within technical teams. Enhance overall privacy awareness and competence across the company, reinforcing the importance of privacy by design in our culture.What you bring Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field.4+ years of experience in data privacy, with a focus on privacy engineering and/or privacy architecture.Strong understanding of data privacy laws and regulations, such as GDPR and CCPA, and their application to technology design and processes.Demonstrated ability to work with technical teams to implement privacy-by-design and default principles in complex systems.Experience with privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs), data anonymization techniques, and secure data management practices.Experience applying privacy-by-design principles in the context of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) efforts.Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.Effective communicator, capable of conveying complex technical principles to non-technical stakeholders.Relevant privacy certifications (e.g., CIPP, CIPT, CISM) are desirable.What we offerMarket competitive and pay equity-focused compensation structure100% paid health insurance for employees with 90% coverage for dependentsAnnual lifestyle wallet for personal wellness, learning and development, and more! Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected salary range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. This role is also eligible to participate in a Robinhood bonus plan and Robinhood’s equity plan. For other locations not listed, compensation can be discussed with your recruiter during the interview process.
