About this opportunity:

The Senior Process Chemical Management, Lloyd Thermal Production will support the Chemical Strategic Plan for the Thermal and the Conventional Heavy Oil (CHO) business units. They will also develop technical and commercial strategies to reduce OpEX and the total cost of ownership (TCO) of the process chemical programs for all LTCHO operating facilities. This role works closely in collaboration with Operations, Engineering, SCM, suppliers and other support teams.

What you’ll do:

Be a subject matter expert (SME) for facility chemicals: including chemical optimization, chemical trials, chemical cost strategies, and trouble-shooting facility upsets

Develop strong working knowledge of the facilities’ operations and the application of each of the process chemicals

Identify chemical optimization opportunities in Thermal and Conventional Heavy Oil, focusing on increasing throughput (Capacity) and reducing OPEX

Support development work at all 13 LT facilities, as well as the LTCHO and CHO business units

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:

Legally authorized to work in Canada

An engineer, technologist, or chemist, with a post secondary education in the relevant discipline

Minimum 8 years of experience with Operations of SAGD / Thermal / Cold Heavy Oil facilities

Minimum 8 years of experience with application and development of chemical programs in SAGD / Thermal / Cold Heavy Oils production

Proven experience in emulsion, water and steam treatment including scale and corrosion inhibitor chemistries

Proven experience in managing operating costs, budgets, and forecasts
