Roles & Responsibilities:

Our Application Engineers are responsible for developing and supporting basic and advanced process control applications that enhance plant process safety, operability, and profitability. He/She will participate In and sometimes lead multi-functional teams tasked with unit troubleshooting, debottlenecking, and optimization, or project development and execution. In this role, will also serve as a senior process control resource, providing technical expertise and mentoring across business teams.Develop and provide support for basic process control applications using basic application engineering skills such as point configuration, loop tuning, and identification of process dynamicsDemonstrate technical leadership in a competitive environment:Broadly apply technical and business skills to solve more complex problems.Develop and implement innovative solutions to non-routine problems by leading teams in resolving technical challenges with an expanding sphere of influence beyond core technical discipline.Implement and sustain base and advanced controls, including multi-variable constraint control, model predictive control, and advanced optimization and automationRecognize business opportunities and contribute toward the improvement of existing unit operationsMentor less experienced engineers to develop skillsMonitor, maintain and modify existing process control applications and operator interfacesIdentify and develop new control schemes to increase process safety, operability, and profitability Provide process control support during project development, installation, and startupParticipate actively on unit operating team including molecule management, unit trouble-shooting and incident investigationsDemonstrated organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholdersCandidates will need to work effectively as a member of an operating team, good communication and interpersonal skills are essentialSupport 24 hour-a-day, 365 day-per-year plant operations. The successful candidate must be available for 24/7 on-call, after-hours and weekend support when needed.

Required Skills (Technical Competency):

BS Chemical Engineering or equivalent degreeRelevant work experience in a manufacturing / operating plant environmentKnowledge of refining/chemical processes with 10 + years working experience in petrochemical industry Desired Skills:Demonstrated experience with regulatory and advanced controls of manufacturing processesExperience with DMC, RMPCT/Profit Controller or similar model predictive control technology, and/or real-time optimizersKnowledge of Honeywell TDC 3000 and/or Experion process control systemAble to demonstrate innovation, initiative, teamwork, accuracy, effectiveness, and self-confidenceExcellent trouble-shooting skillsSufficient leadership skills to successfully promote ideas, coordinate work activities, and plan future application improvement

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

Mostly Office Environments, Occasional Shop Floor involvement.Substantial amounts of telephone and computer work.Heavily Regulated Industries with strict adherence to procedures.Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early.Typical 8 hour days plus lunch / 40 hour weeks / core (required) hours are 9AM to 4PMAbility to use personal transportation to visit customer locations.
