We're hiring a Sr Process Design Engineer to be responsible for the Process Engineering function as it relates to capital projects. You will report to the Design Engineering Lead for our Americas South region. As a Sr. Process Design Engineer, you will direct, coordinate, and exercise functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of process scopes and related documents within area of assigned responsibility. In addition, you will coordinate activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design issues.
The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of process equipment design including pumps, heat exchangers, vessels, etc., and have the ability to apply process tools to design piping systems, complete material, and energy balances, and perform process optimization studies.
This position is based in our Houston, TX office primarily supporting projects in the Gulf Coast region. We offer a hybrid work schedule, Mon/Wed/Thurs in the office and Tues/Fri from home. Travel is project-specific and can accumulate up to 50% and may also include occasional international.
Physical Requirements and Environment Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a laboratory environment with highly hazardous materials Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a pilot plant facility with highly hazardous materials Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings. Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft. Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator Required Qualifications B.S. Degree in an Engineering discipline, Chemical Engineering highly preferred. 10+ years' experience in process engineering/process design. Demonstrated ability to effectively engage and collaborate with different stakeholders. Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills. Ability to travel up to 50% and may include occasional international. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with Grace products and unit operations. Operations and process development experience.
