Job DescriptionA Senior Process Engineer specializing in CMP/Backgrind plays a critical role in the advanced development and optimization of polishing or wafer thinning processes for semiconductor devices. This role involves extensive experience and expertise in semiconductor manufacturing, with a focus on CMP or Backgrinding.
You will be responsible for the following:
Lead the development and optimization of CMP and backgrind processes for semiconductor manufacturing.Design experiments, analyze data, and propose improvements to enhance process performance, yield, and reliability.Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance to ensure seamless integration of new processes into production.Transfer developed processes from R&D to manufacturing, ensuring scalability, repeatability, and robustness.Provide technical expertise and support during the installation, qualification, and validation of CMP and backgrind equipment and processes.Develop and maintain detailed documentation including process specifications, standard operating procedures, and work instructions.Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction through innovation and advanced methodologies.Implement best practices and industry standards to optimize CMP and backgrind processes in alignment with company goals and objectives.Proactively monitor key process parameters and performance metrics, initiating corrective actions as necessary to maintain high standards of quality and efficiency.Provide technical training and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians, sharing knowledge and expertise in CMP and backgrind processes.Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the engineering team, promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing.Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations, standards, and quality requirements throughout the development and implementation of CMP and backgrind processes.Lead investigations into process deviations, non-conformances, and quality issues, implementing corrective and preventive actions to address root causes.QualificationsBS Degree in Chemical, Electrical, Material Engineering, or Physics or the equivalent in education; advanced degree (MS/Ph.D.) preferred.Minimum of 10 years of experience in semiconductor process engineering, with a focus on CMP and backgrind processes.In-depth knowledge of CMP equipment, consumables, and materials, as well as backgrind equipment and techniques.Familiarity with industry-specific standards, including ISO, SEMI, and ESD.Expertise in advanced process modeling, simulation, and statistical analysis.Preferred Qualifications

The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $98,000 - $130,000. Within the range, individual pay is determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, work experience and job knowledge, complexity of the role, job location, etc. Your Recruiter can share more details about the specific salary range for this position during the interview process.
